Besides these there are 144 happy and satisfied mothers who were there to see the success of the scheme for which they have been working all winter, all justly proud of their when they looked at such an attractive little seashore haven for their 'children; and saw them enjoying the ocean breeze and the big sandy under circumstances far Jrom the one-time day at Coney when a tired crowd, popcorn and peanuts wore the main feature. The principal thing about this "sea Shore tent." which has been the aim of all the mothers' clubs of the Brooklyn kindergarten for so long, is that it isn't a tent at all. It's a house a real wood house, one of the portable kind sent down to the shore from Springfield, and one which will be neatly folded lip and put away at the end of the summer. There are two rooms in this little cottage, good big piazza, and a lawn .200 feet equare around it.

It is situated east of Coney Island, on Sea Breeze directly back of City Park-and next to the Reception Hospital. Franklin and DeKalb avenue cars pass the camp-as it Is to be called and all other lines, both elevated and surface, are near. The ground was sold at a very low price by. a prominent resident of Coney Island, and Is a choice spot for a thing of this, kind. Across the park, which is in front of it, come the breezes right from the ocean, unhindered by any side shows or candy stands, and-with nothing-but'' the 'flowers to absorb some of the coolness on its way from the waves to the lawn.

There ire hammocks for the babies and for the older children, and three tents are near. All the beach in front of the park is theirs, and yesterday there were more little "paddlers" and "diggers," all In a happy crowd together, than there havo been for many a day. Three hundred and ninety-nine children, with the' 144 mothers, made In all 643 people, to be. cared for a good record for the first day. The klndergartners who were present managed everything with system and dispatch that was admirable.

Miss Elizabeth Woodward and Miss M. Aldrlch were in charge, and Miss Fannlcbelle Curtis, the Supervisor of Kindergartens, arid originator of the whole scheme, was present to $10.98 Walking Skirts, $5.98. Greenpolnt. Park Slope, Bedford section, Brownsville all the other corners of the city represented and little Isadore from Maujer street, had just the same kind of a happy, healthy day as young Harold from St. Mark's avenue. No children were admitted unattended by their mothers or some older relative. In boxes, paper 'bags, satchels and tin pails they all brought along their lunches, and when the mothers showed their tickets on their arrival, and registered at the camp, milk tickets were given out for the bhildren.

At 12 o'clock the line bo-gan to form for milk, and until 2 the directors were busy filling up the little cups and glasses of the scores of thirsty youngsters. There were no regular kindergarten games, such as are usually played by these little folks, but the sand, the pebbles and the wavelets were all that were needed to make them as happy as fairies, and a whole summer of days like yesterday makes all the children and mothers who can avail themselves of this camp Join with one young Jimmy, who. with a cucumber in one hand, a sandwich in his mouth and a glass of milk balanced on his knee, shouted in his little shrill voice, "Say, dis is de place!" The camp will be kept open until the schools open again, and soon the red and white pennant wavlne high on the pole over the little green roof, and marked "Kindergarten Mothers Clubs Seashore Camp." will be almost as familiar a sight at Conjv as the Dreamland tower. women Sailors Black and hltc regularly .69 39 Women White Lawn Waists- emb or lace trim'd worth .98. .69 Piano epairini tailored l-lgd Madras or Lawn fronts all over emb'd or lace trim'd in many styles worth $1.49 98 Smartly Tailored Wash Suits Reniernbpr We Do Not Open Saturday.
