i Gaynor Goes Dramatic In 'Joker Is Wild' magic carpet over CD ECO Si By JOE What has happened to the romantic type of Last Satur a. t- day night we tuned in on the "Your Hit Parade" program and found about 80 of the tunes on the show either rock n' roll or a crazy novelty. This program is no longer the barometer for hit songs or songs one would like to hear, it is now a program of teen-agers the songs, singers and style of entertainer are all slanted towards the impressionistic youngster. The band is too loud and it drowns out the singer most of the time but what with the type of song being sung on this show maybe it's not a bad idea to drown it out. Maybe some smart sponsor will come along during the next few months and give the viewer the type of song he'd like to hear but in the meantime "Hit Parade" to this reporter anyway, is dead.

Not only that but ABC has come up with a wonderful Western series '3Iaverick" which runs over into the 8-9 time period it impossible to catch all three shows unless you have three TV sets, plus six eyes and six ears. HAREM SCAPwEM: Monique Van Vooren's way of kidding these night club girls Who appear in underwear, take showers, during their acts is to wash out a pair of stockings while she is singing Marshall Grant and his trio are a big hit at the Golden Thread Cafe of the Hotel New Yorker.
