ST. FRANCIS' FEAST The Franciscans will celebrate the feast of their beloved founder, Sr. Francis of Assist on October 4 at Our Lady of Peace Church, Brooklyn. The total registration represents an approximate increase over last year's figures of five per cent Registration for the college nursery school will conclude on Monday and regular sessions will start on Tuesday. Parents and others who are interested in tho work of this department of Catholic education in Brooklyn, may communicate With the executive secretary of the nursery1 school, to arrange for visits. The individual attention which characterized the teaching and guidance procedures during the school's initial year will continue with Miss Margaret Gardiner, head teacher, in direct charge. As has already been announced, a pediatrician and two consultants have been appointed to care for any health problems that may arise, and a registered nurse will examine; the children each morning as usual. In addition to the newly appointed members, of the staff already announced is Miss Loretta Curran.

A.M., instructor of speech at Hunter College of the City of New York. Miss Curran will have charpe of work in phonetics at the college, augmenting the staff of the speech department. Extra curricular activities in the various student organizations will shortly be launched. Oct. 6, at 4 o'clock.

A noted English author and debater, Arnold Lunn is the son of a Methodist minister and a recent convert to the Catholic faith. The title of this book, "Science and the Supernatural," is also the title of his first lecture on American soil, at St. John s. This marks the resumption ol the series of talks on current problems from the Catholic viewpoint, under the auspices of John's University, which began very promisingly last spring with a public lecture by Veiv Rev. Dr.

Fulton J. Sheen. ARNOLD LUNN'S LECTURE ATTRACTS ATTENTION The announcement that Arnold Lunn is arriving in New York next Atek Is being received with much enthusiasm in literary circles and by the reading public generally. Mr. Lunn was born in Madras in 1SS8.

He was educated at Harrow and Oxford and began writing at an early age. In 1921 "Roman Converts," appeared which was strongly anti-Catholic in tone. This was I ehortly followed by a biography of John Wesley which was, in turn, l-inwpded bv "The Flight from Reason." In this readers noted the modification of the anti-Catholic tone and they followed with interest his two controversies in book form, the one with Father Ronald Knox and the other with the agnostic C. E. M.

Joad. Meanwhile, Mr. Lunn capitulated and joined the church setting down his reasons for so doing "Now I See." "The Joy of Controversy" will be the subject of Mr. Lunn's lecture to be held Monday, October 7 at the NeW York Cenacle where may be had and which is being sponsored by the Cenacle Couderc Guild.
