But in the games opening 16 minutes, the Chargers picked him off four times. Never mind what Mike Ditka might think of Ilarbaugh. Hes A-OK in the Chargers book.

Sunday, he was more Captain Turnover than Captain Comeback. I got real sloppy with the foot-i ball, Harbaugh said. But he had some help. The Chargers harassed, chased and bothered Harbaugh on nearly every play. They blitzed linebackers, cor-l nerbacks, and safeties.

They employed man blitzes and zone blitzes. Everybody this side of owner Alex Spanos was pointed toward the Colts backfield. Our pass rushing was very good, Ross said. I think it was the key factor to the ballgame. The Chargers collected a season-high six sacks, with Seau back after missing last week with a knee injury setting the pace with two.

When they werent dragging Harbaugh down, the Chargers were hurrying him into throws he didnt want to make. They really play hard, every one of those guys, defensive coordinator Dave Adolph said. Salisbury, filling in again for Stan Humphries (shoulder), gave the Chargers a dose of consistency.
