The film, Fathers and Sons, which just finished production in Ireland, is being made by Fox Television Pictures and will air during the 2002-03 season as an episode of ABCs Wonderful World of Disney. It will dramatize events in Williams life from the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997 up to his arrival last September to begin college at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

The movie, starring Jordan Frieda, will show William as a drunken, drug-taking, manipulative waster, while his father, Prince Charles, is portrayed as remote and Charles mistress, Camilla Parker-Bowles, is viewed as boorish, according to Londons Daily Mail. Ann landers advises. Time to step in; help sad woman Creators Syndicate Editor's Note: Ann Landers answered her readers letters up to her death on June 22. The following was one of her last columns. Dear Ann Landers: My younger sister, Inez, is suffering from severe postpartum depression. She has told me that she fantasizes about leaving her husband and two children.

She ignores her 4-year-old daughter and visualizes horrible things happening to the 8-month-old baby. Inez doesnt like to leave the house anymore because she sees things. Inez has been going to a psychologist for two months, but I dont think she is getting any better. She was referred to a psychiatrist for medication, but he said he didnt believe in postpartum depression, and the antidepressant he gave her isnt doing the job. I have begged her to see another psychiatrist, but she insists she is managing and everything will be OK.

I am worried to death about my sister and her family. She doesnt want anyone else in the family to know about her condition. Is there anything I can do to help her? Michigan Sister Dear Sister: Inez needs professional intervention, and the sooner the better. You also must involve the rest of the family, whether Inez likes it or not. Her health and the welfare of her children are at stake.

That psychiatrist who doesnt believe in postpartum depression should have his head examined. Inez needs to see someone who is better informed. If she wont discuss a referral with her psychologist, someone else in the family should step forward, get the necessary information and see that she follows through. Meanwhile, offer to baby-sit the children, cook dinner or clean the house. Your sister is emotionally overwhelmed and needs all the help she can get.

Dear Ann Landers: I am dating a man who has an 8-year-old son. My boyfriend, Tom, believes he is raising the next Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods combined. The kid is constantly throwing balls inside the house basketballs, footballs, golf balls, whatever. The walls are scuffed and dented, and he has broken several kitchen plates. Once, he accidentally hit me in the head with a football.

My boyfriend sees nothing wrong with tossing balls around the house. We have been talking seriously about marriage. I would never be able to tolerate such behavior. Am I being unreasonable? Hit or Miss in North Carolina Dear N.C.: Not at all. It is dangerous to throw balls inside the house.

Not only can things break, but people can be seriously hurt. There is no reason the boy cannot toss a ball around outside or in the basement. If Tom doesnt care that the kid hit you in the head, perhaps you had better reconsider this relationship. These problems will not get better after you marry. Trust me.

Dear Ann Landers: My husband, Jake, and I divorced amicably one year ago. He traveled too much and refused to settle down. We parted ways, but I still had strong feelings for him. My last two boyfriends didnt work out, and I mentioned to Jake that I was giving up dating for a while. He surprised me by saying he hadn't dated anyone since the divorce.

I thought Jake missed me and would call, but he hasnt. Its been two months since our last conversation, and I found out he was in town but didnt stop by. 1 am still in love with him, Ann, and am hoping he will come back to me. Should I call him or give up? Praying In Cincinnati Dear Cincinnati: If you want to give Jake a second try, pick up the phone and tell him so. If it turns out hes not interested, stop mooning over him and move on.

BRIDGE Next move up to partner By Bobby Wolff United Feature Syndicate Dear Mr. Wolff: At rubber, with both sides vulnerable, LUO opened one no-trump and my partner doubled. When RHO ran to two clubs, should I have acted with spades Q-4, hearts K-6-5-3, diamonds 10-9-5, clubs Q-8-7-4? Cowardly Lion, Seattle Answer Double two clubs. Your hearts are not strong enough or long enough to bid, but the opponents are sure to have less than half the deck and no great fit. If your partner has a long suit of his own, he will bid it over the double.

If he doesnt, you will be 1 happy to defend and two clubs doubled is not game! Dear Mr. Wolff: At duplicate with both sides vulnerable, my LUO opened two diamonds, weak, passed around to me. I held spades K-Q-6-4, hearts 1 K-9, diamonds Q-5, clubs Q-9-6-4-2. 1 bid two no-trump, but afterwards my partner told me that this shows a strong no-trump and that I should have Torn In Two, Milwaukee Answer: Bidding either black suit suggests a better and doubling with only two hearts is very risky. Meanwhile, two no-trump suggests a better hand but it might work! I prefer to pass; this works if your best available result is to concede two diamonds, or if 1 you can set two diamonds but cant make a game.

Dear Mr. Wolff: At duplicate ith only our side vulnerable, I held spades 9-4, hearts Q-9-7-4-3, diamonds J-7-5, clubs Q-9-2. My LI 10 opened one club, my partner doubled, and my RHO bid one spade. I passed, and my LI 10 raised to three spades, ending the auction. Four hearts our way would have made; should I have bid at my first turn with this hand? Chicken Little, Naples, Fla.

Answer: Bidding two hearts is probably right at your first turn. You have a five-card suit and a few values, and partner has promised at least heart tolerance. 'Dont let your opponents push you around; your partner might hope for a little more for a two-heart call, but he will not expect the worlds fair. Dear Mr. Wolff: I held spades Q-J-9-4-2, hearts 10-3, diamonds K-J-5, clubs K-8-4.

My partner opened one diamond and I responded one spade. Whn he rebid two diamonds, should I have rebid spades, tried for no-trump, or raised diamonds? Embarrassment of Riches, Kansas City, Mo. Answer: Bid three diamonds. Do not repeat the spades on a five-card suit, or try no-trump without a heart stopper. Raising diamonds shows an invitational hand with diamond support and with any luck partner jyill bid three no-trump or produce delayed spade I support, which will suit you down to the ground.

Dear Mr. Wolff: At teams with nobody vulnerable I -held spades A-9-6-5-3, hearts J-10-4-2 diamonds K-5, clubs Q-2. My partner opened one diamond and my V. RHO overcalled one spade. I decided to pass hoping my partner could reopen with a double so that we mj could play for penalties.

We ended up collecting 100, but we could have made four hearts. What would you have done? Never Satisfied, Santa Fe, N.M. I. Answer: Your spade spots were a little weak to go for the throat. A negative double intending to rebid two no-trump if no heart fit comes to life looks right.

But bidding no-trump directly is also reasonable, in which case a one-no-trump bid seems closer to the mark than two no-trump. Happy birthday for Sunday, July 7, 2002: Express your ideas, and others will understand you better. As a result, many more opportunities come forward as others trust and understand you better. Sometimes youre your harshest critic. Give up that type of negativity.

Reach out for others more often. Associates have many good ideas for your money. Use your common sense as to how much risk you're willing to take. If single, youll meet people easily, though you might have just met that special person if not, you are likely to very soon, if you stay open. If attached, your relationship will benefit from your sensitivity.

After 1901 (when the census was taken), a large immigration wave from all over the world increased the population of Western Canada by seven fold, Robbins wrote, making communicable disease inevitable. There was a lack of understanding between sanitation disposal, contamination of food and water through unsanitary handling, and the concept of handwashing was not generally understood, she wrote. Sherrill Pratt wrote after the typhoid article that while hunting for an elusive ancestor, she found maniacal exhaustion listed as a cause of death for a nonfamily member.

After checking a number of sources, I couldnt find a definition that would fit a death certificate, but it doesnt sound nice. Other odd causes of death Pratt listed include (answers are from the Internet listing of Colonial Diseases): Bilious fever: Typhoid, malaria, hepatitis or an elevated temperature, and bile emesis (vomiting) Apoplexy: Paralysis due to stroke Dropsy of the heart: Dropsy is an edema, or swelling often caused by kidney or heart disease Evidently, it was hazardous to be living in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Spokesman-Review ysters by the boxcar were delivered to the Midwest at the turn of the 20th century; they were inexpensive and such a treat to those who were probably bored with dinners of chicken and roast beef. Betty Driscoll Ratzman wrote a most Beverly informative letter in response to the gmjt, recent article about my grandfather dying of typhoid fever in the plains of Alberta.

Shopping at a yard sale, Ratzman bought a copy of a mans family history not of her family which told about an 1895 oyster disaster in the Midwest. The areas grange hall sponsored a community-wide oyster supper. Oysters were cheap and easily delivered by train during the cool months. However, the oysters had been harvested in shallow tidewaters, where sewage was directly discharged and contaminated with typhoid bacteria, reads the account in the family history book. Many of those attending the oyster fest died from typhoid.

I wrote to the Alberta Genealogical Society, asking if there had been an epidemic of typhoid fever when my grandfather died in 1916. Melva Robbins, a retired community health nurse and a genealogy volunteer wrote: The book Health Units of Alberta, states that such communicable diseases as typhoid was the reason for establishing food handling regulations and sanitation laws.
