Sev-1 eral out of town YL's are well known to the legion of DX fans and some have logs which are equal to any of the male DXer's. Now that Miss Cleary has broken the ice, it is our earnest wish that more of Cesar Franck's symphonic poem "Les Eolides" will be the orchestral novelty during the Symphonic hour, scheduled (or 3 to 4 p.m. today over the WABC-Columbia network. Written when the composer had in mind some verse by Leconte de Lisle on the subject of the winds, "Les Eolides" is a delicate piece of impressionism in a vein of which Franck was a master.

In other of his works he shows almost equal ability in interpreting intangible Ideas and translating them into musical language. Toscha Seidel will be heard with the orchestra in Mozart's fifth violin concerto, in A major, one of the group of five which he wrote in one year while at Salzburg. With Herbert Jaffe at the piano, Seidel will play also a scherzo by Dittersdorf, hail from the four corners of the earth. At times when the reception 11:00 akm.
