June 16 Principal among the many factors to make the Adirondack more youthful, more Intimate and evun more friendly will be two vehicular bridges across Lake Champhm.

Work upon the foundations for the Srst of these, between historic Crown Point on the New York side and Chimney Point on the Vermont side, will be completed this year and it is expected that the bridge Itself will be ready for use August of 1929. Assistant District Attorney of New York City, who has a summer home at Athens, near here, is seen on the golf course frequently. Professor E. M. Lehnert of Hunter College and a party of geological students from the college have been passinj a few days at Rusack's Shady Lawn Inn. The low rate of transportation to the resorts in the Catskills, by the palatial Hudson River Day Line steamers. New York Central and Weft Shore railroads and the Saugerties and New York steamboat company service between Saugerties and New York and return, combined with splendid roads for motoring on both the east and west side of the Hudson attract many visitors.

The lure of the sea has lost none of its magic power, even though people are restless and forever awheel. There will be a larger representation of Westerners than ever before. Even blase New York is turning its attention to Cape May resorts. Visitors who come by motor will find the roads in fine condition and more miles of concrete leading to the county than ever before.

Among other improvements involving the expenditure of about $50,000 more at Westport Inn is an attractive new clubhouse for the Westport Golf Club, located convenient to No. 2 fairway, and the growing importance of Westport as a yachting center has been recognized in the erection of a splendid new clubhouse on a shore point in Westport Inn preserve. Both the new yacht clubhouse and the new home of the solf club are after plans by Russell Whitehead of New York, a prominent member of the summer colony and a member of the board of governors of the Yacht Club.

Another social center where improved facilities for the enjoyment of golf are conspicuous in this season's arrangements is Schroon Lake, where the Schroon Lake Golf club hai erected a splendid new clubhouse and has extended Its course to 18 holes. With many odd stretches completed last fall the county is fitted to cope with the ever increasing motor population. The new concrete highway leading from Port Jervis to Monticello will divert a large portion of the resort traffic from the Liberty Highway and render more accessible the region about Sparrowbush, Sack-ett Lake, St. Josephs and Merricwold. Joining the Liberty Highway at Monticello the trunk route leads through Ferndnle. Liberty, Parksville, Livingston Manor, Roscoe and East Branch.

Cater to Tourists. The last few seasons have made It increasingly more evident that the automobile has revolutionized the summer resort Industry. Formerly families would leave the city in the present summer will for the first time be introduced on a permanent commercial bnsis, will serve to link mere closely than ever the Adirondacks and the cities of the Eastern seaboard. Five all-metal Ford monoplanes operating between New Ynrk and Montreal via the Champlain Valley in the service of the Canadian-American Airways. will each accommodate 12 passengers and 1 000 pounds of baggage, and the schedule calls for four round trips between New York and Montreal daily, four hours being allowed for the trip between points. The passenger rate is 10 cents i-tr mile, or about $35. In addition to this through service it is expected there will also be supplementary service to points in the interior of the Adirondacks and in the Champlain Valley, notably Lake Placid. Rod and gun clubs throughout Sullivan County co-operate with the State In stocking the streams and making the region a mecea for trout enthusiasts.
