Just like new. see te appreciate. WYATT MOTOR CO. The report card marking system used for the past two in Jefferson County schools for fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be abolished after the next grading period. 'Grading similar to that used in the upper classes will bo utilized instead.

This was decided by the Jefferson County School Board Friday after the members reviewed a complaint submitted by the Jefferson County Classroom Teachers Assn. The system that was put Into effect for the three classes two years ago contained both a progress report and percentages grades, according to I. F. Simmons, school superintendent. The system to be used in the future is based on the more commonly used 8, given as marks to students in grades seven through 12, he said.

The complaint that caused the overthrow of the two-year-old system was the teacher belief that it caused confusion in trying to mark the student two different ways. DR. SIMMONS explained the problem in terms of the duller student who was making a tremendous effort in his work. He said the progress report would indicate that the was doing a good Job for his own capabilities. But, he pointed out, when 'the pupil also was graded on a percentage based on the dver-all achievement of the class he would not fare so well.

This could lead to confusion as to exactly what the pupil was accomplishing in school, the superintendent pointed out. He said that a letter system vas used before the combined grading was put into effect two years ago. At that time marking was "based on E-excellent, G-good, and on down. He said that the. Installation of the new system had been the result of a study by a card committee comprised -of teachers, principals and superintendents.

BOARD yesterday -unanimously voted to place the marking system on a basis Similar to that used in the upper grades. In other actions the school Jqard: Agreed temporarily to pay -a charge the city school system is placing on children in the Oakville community who attend a city high school. But he says: "Im In as deep as I can get There isnt anything worse can happen to me. And of Californias method of execution: I guess they can only give me one shot of gas. POLICE FRIDAY brought the mousy, bat-eared television repairman here 40 miles from Santa Ana, near where he was arrested Monday night. A highway patrolman happened by on a motorcycle as Glatman struggled beside a car with his fourth intended victim, Lorraine Vigil, 28, a model like two of his three victims. Before dawn Friday Glatman led detectives to the skeletons of two of them Mrs.

Shirley Ann Bridgeford, 24, divorcee he dated through a lonely hearts club, and Miss Ruth Rita Mercado, 24, model and dancer. The remains of both lay 26 miles apart in a remote, sandy area east of San Diego. A body found in adjoining Riverside County last December is believed to be that of his third victim, Mrs. Judy Ann Dull, 19. Glatman told investigators he raped all three and strangled them with a five-foot length of sash cord.

POLICE SAID Glatman will be questioned in the slayings of Marjorie Hipperson, 24, a nurse found strangled with a stocking in her Los Angeles apartment June 10, 1957, and Mrs. Ruth Goldsmith, 50, ehoked with a stocking in her apartment April 5 that year. Lt. C. W.

McGowan of the sheriffs homicide division said we are by no means satisfied Glatman is not the killer of Mrs. Jean Ellroy, 43, El Monte nurse strangled with cotton rope and a stocking in bushes bordering a school playground last July 15. Shortly after denying knowing of this killing, Glatman confessed the others Thursday. AFTER BEING booked in the downtown police building here on suspicion of murder, Glatman Friday night wolfed his first solid meal in 24 hours frankfurters, corn, French apple pie, ice cream. I really didnt like to kill, he told a newsman.

I didnt have that urge. It was just that I got past that point of no return. I was afraid theyd Identify me. Well, not meN because nobody had my picture out here, the New York and Colorado exconvict added. But the car.

Theyd make that. WHY DID HE USE a rope when he had a pistol? Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by rope. It seems as if I always had a piece of rope in my hands. He remarked: It's my mother. I really feel sorry, for her.

This is going to bo harder on her than on me. Mrs. A. H. Glatman, 69, Denver, sobbed on learning of her sons arrest: "Oh, my God in heaven! Not my boy! Not my boy! He was always so good.

He never hurt anybody. HUGHES. The Rev. Arthur Em-mitt, age 81: of 1714 Pike Ensley, passed away Wednesday a.m. In Shreveport, La.

EBSCO head. Periodical Sales both being sued Periodical Sales, division of EBSCO Industries of Birmingham and EBSCO president Elton B. Stephens are being sued in federal court here for allegedly inducing a former employee of Union Circulation of Atlanta, to break his contract with the firm. The suit filed by Union Circulation asks that TBSCO be forced to sever relations with Cecil T. Gay, its former employee, and others whom he induced to leave the firm to join Periodical Sales.

It also asks that Union Circulation be awarded compensatory damages for business which Gay transacted since he became associated with Periodical Sales. Gay, who now holds the title of president of Periodical Sales Division of EBSCO Industries formerly was a crew manager and stockholder of Union Circulation according to the suit. FA 4-0491 VSerlous abuses at the State Docks are going to be corrected by the next Legislature, Albert Boutwell, Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, assured a Birmingham audience Friday. In a talk before the Birmingham Civitan Club, he praised the appointment of Earl McGowan as new docks director. Boutwell was proudly applauded when he made the remarks about the State Docks.
