15, at 10 a. m. Rev. James H. Coil, retired pastor of Compton Heights Christian Church here and one time chaplain of the State House of Representatives, died of infirmities at St.

Luke's Hospital yesterday. He was 80. Rev. Coil served 155 years In the ministry of the Christian Church before his retirement in 1950. A native, he studied for the ministry at Transylvania Seminary, Lexington, Ky.

He served as an itinerant preacher in Northeast Missouri before accepting the Compton Heights pastorate in 1919. He was chaplain for the legislators 1n'1941. Rev. Coil is survived by his widow, Mrs. Virginia Ray Coil, of 621 Westwood Clayton, and five sons, Ben, of Miami, Cullen, a Missouri Supreme commissioner at Jefferson City; Lee, of Lubbock, Tex.

James Jr, of Mobile, and Northcutt, an at 941 Dougherty Ferry Kirkwood. Private funeral services will be held at the Lupton funeral establishment tomorrow at 11 a. in. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. i Dr.

Herbert yd Former German Consul Here, Dies Dr. Herbert Diel. German Consul General in St. Louis from November, 1937, to July, 1941, died Monday of a heart attack while vacationing at Osage Beach, Lake of the Ozarks retort, friends here were notified yesterday. Dr.

69 years old, had been visiting in the St. Louis area in recent weeks, accompanied by his wife and a stepson, Rolf Opderbeck. He came to the United States from his home near Salzburg, Austria. last July on his first visit to this country since his consulate here was closed by order of the Federal Government five months before Pearl Harbor. Also surviving is a son, Heinz DieL The body will be cremated and the ashes returned to Salzburg.
