Nelson, together with his father, the late Charles Nelson, who died in 1929, founded the C. Nelson and Company concern, 4016 Union which manufactures ice cream cabinets and soda fountains. Mr. Nelson is chairman of the board of the company while his son, Charles W. Nelson, is president.

Mrs. Nelson is executive vice president of the company and her daughter, Hortense, is treasurer. Mr. Nelson attended Kansas State College from 1896 to 1899. He left college in 1899 to enter business with his father.

The blue-eyed blonde will star in fashion showings of bathing suits at Famous-Barr Company's i three stores Thursday, Friday: and Saturday. The public is invited to the showings, at 12:30 and 6:30 p. Thursday in the downtown store, at 3:30 and 7:30 p. m.

Friday in the Clayton store, and Saturday at 11 a. tn. and 2:30 p. m. in the Southtown store.

Miss Stevenson competed against beauties from 47 other states to become Miss United States, then against winners from 33 foreign countries to become Miss Universe in the contest last July. Charges Dismissed in -icebox Deaths Charges resulting from the suffocation of two children May 17 in an icebox were dismissed Friday against Julian Gilliam, 2506 Douglas East St.

Louis, on whose property the deaths occurred. Dismissal was on motion by Police Commissioner Russell T. Beebe, who told Justice of the Peace Edward Horrigan that Gilliam was not negligent because the icebox was not abandoned. He said the box had been stored in a closed garage pending decoration of which Gilliam leases. The dead children were Nancy Anne Cygan, 2508 Douglas, and Robert Ballance, 1416 Vorth Twenty-fifth both three years of age.
