Dr.

Bruce McGehee. pastor of the First Methodist Church of Troy, officiated, using the ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate families. Mrs. Grant is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. J.

R. Carter, of unford. She was attired for her marriage in a becoming traveling costume. She formerly taught school at Lincoln, having recently resigned. Mr.

Grant was recently elected congressman from tlje Second Congressional District. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Grant left for New Orleans, from which point they sailed for Cuba on Dec. 7.

They will return via Miami. Fla to Troy about Dec. 18, and will reside in this city until they depart for Washington the latter part of the month. Troy Messenger. BARRETT PRE-SCHOOL GROUP HAS SESSION Barrett Pre-School Group met Tuesday at the home of Mi's.

Walter Morris with 12 members present. Mrs. H. B. Barnard spoke on "The Citizen in the School.

Mrs. C. H. Scott and Mrs. Andrew Mann also took part.

The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Andrew Mann, 611 South Eightieth Place. Joy Kinnebrew. daughter of Mrs. H.

S. Kinnebrew, and a popular member of the young set has been selected by members of the Oberon Club to lead the fourth annual dance Friday evening, Dec. 30, the Pickwick Club. Har escort will be James Spencer, president of the club. TTus affair, which promises to hold a high spot in the Christmas holiday season, will begin at 9:30 oclock.

Members of the Amalgamation of Clubs, of which the Oberon Club is a member, will be guests and invitations will be extended to outstanding fraternities, social clubs and sororities of the citiy. Officers of the club other than Mr. Spencer are: Willie Ferrier, vice president; E. J. Martin, secretary, and Reynolds Watters, treasurer.

HOSPITAL AUXILIARY TO MEET WEDNESDAY The Hospital Auxiliary of Birmingham Baptist Association will meet at 10:30 am. Wednesday in the nurses home of the West End Baptist Hospital. Plans for a Christmas party will be completed and officers will be elected. All W. M.

NOW Phillips Seniors Complete Cast The cast has been announced and rehearsals are under way for "The Late Christopher Bean, Phillips High School senior play, which will be presented Jan. 13. Tbe play is one of the best-known works of Sidney Howard, having been selected by Bums Mantle fot his volume.

Best Plays for the Year 1932-33. "The Late Christopher Bean" will be directed by Miss Evelyn Ansey. Borders, TallanL Beth-El Plans Chanukah Supper At a recent meeting of Temple Beth-El Sisterhood, plans were formulated for the annual Chanu-! kah supper.

The festival, Chanukah, will begin with a play given by the Sunday School children of the Beth-El at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 18, at the temple. The play will be followed by the serving of the customary Chanukah delicacies in the vestry room. Mesdames M. Goldstein and M.

Club Organized A new chapter of the Business and Professional Womens Club was installed Monday evening at an impressive service held in Leeds at the Presbyterian Church. Dinner was served by the ladies of the church and the tables were adorned in the Christmas motif. Following dinner, the initiation was held, the Spirit of Clubs being portrayed by Mrs. Nannie Nash, of the Birmingham Bederation, and the spirit of business being given by Miss Margaret Stone, of Leeds. The installation was in charge of Dr.

Lola Taylor, of Birmingham, past state president, and the following officers were sworn in: Mrs. Bertha Pizer, president; Mrs. Evelyn Schwab, vice president; Miss Bennie Moore, corresponding secretary; Miss Lucille Mullins, recording secretary, and Mrs. Ruby Price, treasurer. Bringing the evening to a close, a program was given by Mrs.
