Harding VISTA Joseph F. Harding, 92, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 1995, at Rancho Vista Health Center. He was born in Omaha, Neb., in 1903. Mr. Harding lived in Kansas City, Kan., before moving to Hollywood. In addition to many years of teaching violin in both the Kansas City School District and in Hollywood, he was concertmaster for the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra. He studied in Paris for nine years and toured Europe and the United States with various concert orchestras. He moved to Vista in 1989 after retirement and served in the U.S. Navy during World War IL Mt Harding is survived by his naissance Task Force. In 1943, Terrell was assigned to North Africa as deputy commander of the Mediterranean Allied Bomber Force over American troops battling their way north to Italy. Terrell's wartime effort earned him the Silver Star, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star with clusters, along with other military commendations. Following the war, Terrell taught at the National War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., and was assigned to the 20th Air Force Division in Korea from much as $30,000. Carlos Fernandez bought a $28,000 GMC Jimmy at monthly payments of just $720. Insurance was another $133. How could a 17-year-old afford such a commitment? "I'm going to get a really good-paying job that gives me a lot of money," Fernandez explained. Sophomore Katie Saffiote got off easy relatively speaking. Mr. Gootgeld is survived by his daughter, Amy Catherine Coot-geld of Escondido; father, Raymond Gootgeld of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Judith Somudi of La-gum Beach and Wendy Brown of Colorado Springs; and brother, Jeffery Gootgeld of Montrose. Cremation was performed and 1950 to 1952. Terrell retired from the Air Force in 1967 and moved to Lake San Marcos. In his later years, he became an active member of the Kiwartis and Order of Daednlians Terrell is survived by a son, Frederick Terrell, and a daughter, Priscilla Ann Brody, both of San Diego. He will be cremated and buried at a family plot in Altadena.
