Clark's triple-threat fullback, "Rough House" Harper tossed a 25-yard pass to Zelma Barbee from the 40 and Barbee raced across the goal line for the deciding tally. Harper converted for the extra point. In the first period, Clark was In danger several times and was unable to get in safe territory. Clarks punting suffered in a stiff breeze confronting them, and they seldom advanced the ball past their own 40. Rugged work by the Panther line was all that saved them in the 1 initial frame.

In the second and third periods both teams engaged in an indecisive puotmg due). Neither side was able to gain very much on running plays. In the last quarter, a two-sided aerial attack was unleashed in reckless bids for a decision. Tuskegee's quarterback. Alva Tabor, tossed pass after pass and succeeded in getting the ball to Clark's two-yard line before losing the ball on downs.

"Rough House Harper backed up behind his own goal line and kicked 85 yards to Tuskegee's 15, getting his mates out of as tough a spot as they had experienced. Ramsay Meets Gopher Outfit Lone Touchdown Scored In First Quarter Of Game Before 19,000 Fans BY JIMMY GIBBS Harry Gilmer practically pinned another the fifth consecutive Big Five football crown on Coach Malcolm Laneys Woodlawn Colonels Friday night at Legion Field before the largest crowd ever to watch a prep football game in Birmingham. Some 19.000 cheering fans clung to their seats and the sideline fence in the closing minutes of the game to see the truly mighty Colonel team subdue Ensley's Yellow Jackets, 6 to 0 The winning and only touchdown came early in the first quarter of the game when Woodlawn took the ball in mid-field after Ensley had failed to advance the kickoff. Six plays later the Colonels scored. Gilmer set up the touchdown when he heaved a 28-yard aerial to Capt Paul Arthur, who made a beautiful catch but was stopped in his tracks.

The three men that were covering him against the pass made the tackle. Three plays later Gilmer took a reverse from Gordon Pettus and plunged off right tackle for 13 yards and over the goal. Charles Langner failed to convert and the scoring was over. Ensley's backs could never seem to get a suitable offense to work against the powerful Colonel line, which without a doubt, played its best game of the season. Clyde Fies-elman ripped off sizable gains quite often but they would end before serious damage was done.

A desperate passing attack was hurled at Woodlawn in the final quarter which was the only time the Yellow Jackets were able to enter Woodlawn territory. Ensley took the ball on their own 36-yard line and a pass, Fieselman to James Stewart, netted the Jacket six yards.
