The crew started unloading shortly after 7 a.m.

and eventually met at the Super City Parking lot at 2:30 to begin the drive to Fiala Implement. (Republic Photos By Johnston) Walk Shew- Boxoffice Hours Are Extended Extended boxoffice hours for the Lawrence Welk Show, playing at the Corn Palace Festival here Sept. 21 through 28, were- announced Thursday, The Corn Palace Committee said that "due to unprecedented demand for tickets, the box- office will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays and from 10 a.m.

to '6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays." These hours will remain in effect until the opening the festival on Sunday, Sept. 21. Advance ticket sales for the 15 Welk Show performances "are far surpassing those for any other show to date in the 77 years of Corn Palace history," the committee said. "We are assured of a record-breaking sellout." Some seating is still available for all performances, but best choice is for the shows Monday through seats are reserved.

Two performances are scheduled for opening day, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday there are two shows per day at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., with a special matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday, the final day.

Mail orders are filled in the order received when accompan led by a check or money order and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Seats may be reser ved by writing Box 250. TAP Holds Regular Meet Al Wehde, Chairman of the Davison County Technical Ac tion Panel, reports that the TAP Committee held its regular monthly meeting August 18.

Gilbert McTighe from th Mitchell City Planning Commission gave a full report on the comprehensive plan for the future development and redevelopment of the central business district of Mitchell. Mr. McTighe said this is long-time plan which will take a number of years to complete. There is developed in the plan a list showing the general' sequence of events that should be followed implementing the Central Hold 40-Year Class Reunion The Piano graduating class of 1929 held a 40-year reunion at the Brig Wednesday night. Eight of the 10 graduates were in attendance.

F. Doyen, 51, formerly of Mitchell, were Thursday afternoon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redficld. Rev, Doyen was pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell when it was organized in 1957 and served until going to Redficld in 1961. He lost his eyesight several years ago but continued his pastoral duties until resigning earlier this year because of ill health. He died Aug.

19 at a Redfield hospital. Survivors include his widow, one son, James in the service, who recently returned torn Vietnam; two daughters. Ixris and Hope, at home, and sister, Mrsi Kammer, North Dakota. 71 Pass Swim Lessons A total of 71 students passed the Whittier and surrounding area swimming lessons at Hitchcock Pool, according to Gretch en Deitzel, head instructor. Whittier was the last school to recieve lessons this summer.

Dealer Buys $1,179,000 In Equipment A combined shipment of tractors, cornheads, combines and dryers totaling $1,179,000 was purchased by Ed Fiala, owner of Fiala Implement located at Fulton. The majority of the farm equipment in Mitchell early Wednesday morning via train and was unloaded by Fiala's friends and neighbors and transported to the imp.lement company later in the afternoon. A total of 83 helpers aided in the unloading and transporting. The machinery and the equipment left the Super City parking lot at 2:30 and began the hour caravan to Fiala Implement.

There were 66 combines in the purchase, accounting for the majority of the machinery. Along with the combines, there were 29 dryers, 54 two, four and six-rosv corn heads and 12 tractors. Unloading operations started shortly after 7 a.m. and the equipment was finally put in its place at 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Fiala 'has been in the imple ment business for 27 years and stated that his selling area was "from water to water." He employs no salesmen because he himself likes to meet his customers. "My wife and I feel we have a full time job," mentioned Fiala. "We take care of the livestock, farm and the machinery ourselves and hire only three full-time employes, Fiala will hold an auction Saturday, Aug. 30 to move some of the used equipment which is presently at the implement company. in Business District Plan.

Mitchell Man Enrollment Figures For City Schools Preliminary enrollment figures at the Mitchell Schools appears to be quite stable, according to school administrators Following is a breakdown oi enrollment of the elementary schools: Eugene Litchfield 315.

Longfellow 443. Piano 144. Whittier 397 These figures result in a total of 1,616 elementary students this year compared to 1,618 of a year ago. Junior High has a tentative enrollment of 754, Senior High enrollment is about 621 but school officials report that there are several students who have not finalized iheir registration and the Voc Tech School has a tentative enrollment of 420 students. Approximately 90 Senior High students are also expected to become involved in courses at the Vocational School.
