4, 1H4 Glofee-Gaiettc, Msson City, Danish State Meetings End CLEAR LAKE Dorothy Petersen, Clear Lake, was elected president of the Danish Sisterhood at the state convention which closed Monday at Clear Lake. Fred Nielsen, Kingsted, was reelected president of the Danish Brotherhood. Others named were Mrs. Don Boyland, Council Bluffs, vice president; Mrs. George Hoin, Ringsted, secretary treasurer; Mrs.

Orville Paulsen, Newell, and Mrs. Fred Thomsen, Des Moines, alternates. Arnold Rasmussen, Newell, was named vice president of the men's group; Fred Thompson, Des Moiues, trustee, and Sttn Ored- 1 son, Clear Lake, conductor. Cards were played Saturday night at the I.O.O.F. Hall and about 150 attended the banquet Sunday evening at the All "Veterans Social Center at which all of the state officers spoke, Mrs.

Chris Caspersen and Louis Kofoed, presidents of the local chapters, gave the welcome addresses and Keith Holt was the master of ceremonies. Richard Thomsen sang a solo and a duet with Miss Janice Olsen. Mrs. Ray Hansen gave a reading and Miss Olsen, an instrumental solo. Mrs.

Leach accompanied. Following the business session Monday a dinner was served and plans were made for the next convention to be held over Labor Day at Council Bluffs. Most Panama hats are made in Ecuador. Harry D. Cole Dies in South CLEAR LAKE here received word Tuesday of the death of Harry D.

Cole, Miami, Fla. He died sududenly early Tuesday at his home. He had been in declining health for several years. Mr. and Mrs.

Cole moved to Florida from Clear Lake several years ago. He was emp'jyed by the Hawkeye Mutual Hail Insurance Fort Dodge, for more than 30 years and was vice president at the time of his death. Surviving him are his wife, Sarah; one daughter, Mrs. John Gardner, both of Miami; two grandchildren; three brothers, Dan Cole, Spencer; Don Cole, Des Moines; and M. Ellsworth, and sister in Seattle.

Plan Hudson Rites at Methodist Church CLEAR services for S. S. Hudson will be held Wednesday at p.m. at Methodist Church with the Rev. W.

R. Noland, officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Masonic rites will be held at the graveside. The Ward Funeral Home is in charge.

Special trophies went to Mary Evans for sportsmanship and to Alan Tice for efficincy in sea manship. Juno Cups were awarded to Dr.

Frank Ward in C-class for finishing the last race of the season in last place and to Lloyd Karr in the E-class. A silver coffee server was presented to Chan Dakin in appreciation of his services as commodore during the past yeear. Balabans Honored at Celebration of Golden Wedding CLEAR LAKE About 100 guests attended open house for Mr. and Mrs. V.

P. Balaban Sunday on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. They received many cards, gifts and flowers. All of their children and their families were present for the occasion. They are: Pete Balaban, Vancouver, Mike Balaban, Redlands, Mrs.

Earl Anderson, Brea, Mrs. Delmar Jacobson, Clear Lake; Mrs. Alfred Caffrey, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Tomma Stoynoff, Mason City. Peter Geloff, Tuttle, N.D.,, brother of Mrs.

Balaban, also was present with Mrs. Geloff. Mr. and Mrs. Balaban have 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

In the evening a family dinner was served at the Aire-O-Room. The party was arranged by the daughters. Mrs. Mike Balaban poured and Mrs. Jacobson cut the cake at the open house.
