Send your picture to: deskdailynewspix.com Reality show star is cuffed for assault on her boy toy BY MELISSA GRACE, KORIN MILLER and STEPHANIE GASKELL DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS NEW YORK'S NEWEST "Real Housewife" is denying blockbuster charges that she beat up her ex-boyfriend. Kelly Killoren Bensimon, 40, was arrested last week for misdemeanor assault after 30-year-old Nicholas Stefanov called cops, saying she punched him. Benismon, who appears on Bravo's hit reality show "The Real Housewives of New York City," socked him "with a closed fist, causing lacerations below the left eye and substantial pain," the criminal complaint he filed with police charges. The modeleditorreality TV star who is actual-i ly divorced turned herself in Thursday, two days af- ter the incident.

She was released on her own recognizance. "The allegations are by a jilted lover saying she struck him during the course of an argument," said her lawyer Stephen Turano. "They were on and off again mostly off." "We deny the charges, and we are hopeful this will be resolved." Fellow "Housewives" co-star Bethenny Frankel stood by Bensimon: "I can not imagine this being true, but all I can say is love shouldn't hurt." Bensimon was married to famed fashion photographer Giles Bensimon until they split in 2006. They have two daughters. In recent years, she and Stefanov have been staples of the society pages, photographed together at swanky celebrity parties.

Bensimon is due back in court March 31. Turano said he doesn't think the charges will stick. "Stefanov has attempted to call or send messages since the incident and has expressed an interest in not pursuing the charges," Turano said. A Bravo rep declined comment, saying, "We don't comment on the personal lives of our talent." Stefanov could not be reached for comment. Friends said Bensimon has downplayed the brawl.

"She's doing the socialite thing. She's completely blase about it," a pal said. "She's trying to pretend that it's a nonevent. She's playing it off as if it didn't happen." Outside her posh SoHo home, Bensimon declined comment last night as two doormen shielded her with an umbrella and tried to shoo a reporter away. After Stern left, CBS tried a talk show and then went back to rock with Opie and Anthony.

Opie and Anthony were once a hit on CBS-owned WNEW Radio, but were taken off the air in 2002 after an infamous "Sex in St. Patrick's" stunt. Starting today, Opie and Anthony (Cumia) will do their show live for five hours on XM Satellite Radio, a source said. They could return to free radio down the road. "They'll have a terrestrial radio future if they want one," said Tom Taylor, executive Tuesday, March 10, 2009 Vol. 90 No. 256.
