The services of the day were well attended. The morning service was In charge of Rev. H. B. Davis, of New Castle, and the evening service, was in charge of the pastor, Rev.

A. W. Deutsch. Services were held Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with former pastors as speakers. A new basement has Jbcen put under the church.

In it a well equipped kitchen, a new entrance built onto the church. The church has been reseated, repainted, a new piano bought and many other improvements. The church has expended on these improvements about $5,000. All of which had been paid except $1,000 and this amount was raised on Sunday. The people of Peters Chapel are to be complimented on the work they have done and they now have a church they can well be proud of.

The Bullion Bible Class held a masquerade party on Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Minnie Hoffman. The membership of the class was well represented, there being some very clever costumes and the evening proved to be one, of great enjoyment. Refreshments were served late in the evening. A very happy surprise was sprung upon Mr. and Mrs.

John C. Donaldson on Last Thursday evening when friends and neighbors to the number of 49 gathered at the home of Pearl Donaldson to bid farewell to them. Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson are moving to Tyrrell, Ohio.

A pleasant evening was enjoyed playing games and tempting and delicious refreshments- were Mrs. Julia Anderson entertained the H. II. H. Club at dinner on Thursday in a very pleasing manner.

The mem-bers of the club were all present and all enjoyed the good dinner which was served. A goodly number was in attendance the, chicken supper given in the Dean school house on Friday evening by the W. C. T. U.

A nice sum was realized from the elegant chicken supper which was served. Mr. and Mrs. Walter McKean were called here from Greenville last week ou account of the illness of the latter 's mother, Mrs. William J.

Sloan. Mrs. Sloan Is now some better. Mrs. Wise, of Sharon, has been here the past week, visiting at the home of Mr.

Mrs. Frances Meals has returned home from Eau Claire, where she spent the past two weeks with relatives. The Ladies' Missionary Society of the Presbyterian church gave the play "The Kitchen Cabinet Orchestra" at the Stone Church on Thursday evening, Eau Claire Friday evening, and Wesley Tuesday evening. They had a good attendance each evening and realized a nice sum for their society.
