A chartered bus will leave from the Church at 9:30 a.m. and return at 6:30 p.m.

The day will be spent in worship, in planning for the coming season's activities, in recreation and Christian Fellowship. Those who are in the 9th ihrough the 12th grades are invited to attend. Those plannning to attend should take a sack lunch. Commission chairmen who will lead the session are Reid Bonig, Cindy Himes, Jim Tinkey, Lynn and Linda Weber and Kim Wolfe. At this time the reports of the six committees of the Parish will be made. The policy md program for the next three months will be made and voted upon and the first reading of the budget for 1972 will be made.

The stewardship committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. today, prior to the council meeting. The Millbrook Missionary Society will meet Thursday in the home of Mrs. Sue Beckdol, Fredonia, for a picnic lunch. Devotions will be led by Mrs.

Helen Westlake. The roll call word is "seek." The Women's Missionary Society of Ebenezer Church will meet Thursday for an all-day meeting at the church. Mrs. Blanche Nicklin will be in charge of devotions and Miss Anna Mary Coulter will have the Bible Study. The Irwin Session will meet at 8 p.m.

Grove City's AFS student, Sylvia Luz Urquidi, of Cochabamba, Bolivia, will be given an opportunity to meet local residents when the public is invited to the Youth Center in the Grove City Community Center from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Blom GROVE CITY Mrs. Olive P. Blom. 74, of Grove City RD 1. was dead on arrival at 8:30 a.m.

Wednesday at Bashline Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. Mrs. Blom was born in Butler County Feb. 13, 1897, a daughter of Steve and Minne Bowman Redmond. She married Peter Blom Nov.

28, 1917. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Grove City. Surviving, in addition to her husband are: four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Elizabeth) Wetzel of Grove City RD 1, Mrs. Donald (Freda) Perrine of Mercer RD 6, Mrs.

Harold (Annabelle Mullen of Grove City and Mrs. Donald (Cleo Buckel of Mercer RD three sons, Fulton Blom of Hammond, Gilbert Blom of Grove City RD 1 and Frank Blom of Grove City; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Snyder of Slippery Rock RD; two brothers, Horace Redmond of Slippery Rock and Kenneth Redmond of Grove City RD 32 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, with the Rev.

Raymond Schermerhorn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park. William Blanc hard GROVE CITY William J.

Blanchard, 84, 149 Edgewood died in Bashline Memorial Hospital at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday following an extended illness. He was born in Columbus, Aug. 14, 1887, a son of Charles and Ellen Aylesworth Blanchard. He was married to Clarabel Wurster Jan.

2, 1920. He had been a resident of Grove City for the past 45 years. He retired from Cooper-Bessemer Co. in 1956 where he had served as a foreman for 31 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Virginia) Connel, Industry, two sons, Harold Beaver and Harley Blanchard of Royal Oak, one sister, Mrs. John (Mary) Bennink, Columbus, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cunningham Funeral Home in charge of the Rev.

Richard Grance, his pastor. Interment will be made in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. HARRISVILLE NEWS Sewing club holds judging Harrisville Girls of the 4-H Sewing Club of Harrisville held their judging meeting recently at the Harmony United Presbyterian Church. Judging was done by Miss Carol Barnes, home economics teacher at Slippery Rock High School. The work was judged on appearance and construction. Fifteen members participated.

Jan Detiesch, made a pair of terry cloth T.V. Slippers, Judy Thompson, Connie Bauder and April Shay, Tote Bags, Genia Younkins, a Headscarf and Diana Cokain, an apron. Second year girls Mindy Cokain, Maria Polanic, Lisa Haugen, Melanie Covert, Crystel Eakin, Barbara and Debbie McCauslin made skirts. Youth rally held at church Harrisville The Presbyteens of Harmony United Presbyterian Church in Harrisville held a Youth Rally at the church recently. Guest Youth groups attended from Center United Presbyterian Church, Grove City, and United Methodist Church, Boyers.

The meeting was in charge of Advisor Roger Aiello. He led singing to open the meeting. "Our High Society" was the name of the film presented by a team of former drug addicts from the teen challenge training Center in Relsburgh. Following the film testamonials were given by the team with a question and answer period. Teen challenge training center was started by the Rev.

David Wilkerson for Rehabilitation of drug addicts. It is trying to keep young persons from drug overdoses, the number one killer of Young people. Benediction closed the meeting. WSCS holds meet Harrisville WSCS held an executive board meeting at the home of president, Mrs. Robert Bell.

Program books were made for the coming year. There was no regular meeting in August. briefs Erio man hold for murdor ERIE. Pa. (UPI) Police were holding William From-knecht, 32, of Erie, today on a general murder charge in connection with the shooting death of his wife, Dianne.

Mrs. Fromknecht, 20, mother of a three-week-old child, was found dead Wednesday at her apartment with a gunshot wound of the temple. Fromknecht, who helped police capture a suspect in a wife-murder in downtown Erie last month, said his wife was taking a rifle from a shelf when it discharged. Hunger strike ends in prison SPRINGFIEID, Mo. (UPI) A hunger strike has ended for antiwar priest Philip Berrigan and nine other federal prisoners protesting the nation's parole system.

The end of the strike came Wednesday as the 10 ate solid food for lunch for the first time since Aug. 5. Sister Elizabeth McAlister, a defendant in the Harrisburg conspiracy case, announced the end of the fast at a news conference after visiting the inmates at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners. She said Berrigan and the others "never envisioned it as something never ending." Lawford plans to wed girl, 21 HOIXYWOOD (UPI)-Peter tawford, 48, and Mary Rowan, 21, daughter of comedian Dan Rowan, will be married Oct.

31, the actor announced Wednesday. Iawford said his son, Chris, 16, would act as best man. The wedding date is Miss Rowan's 22nd birthday. Lawford was divorced by Patricia Kennedy in Gooding, Idaho, in 1966 ending 11 years of marriage. Mrs.

Iawford, sister of the late President John F. Kennedy, was granted custody of their four children. Rowan, of television's "Row--in Martin's said of the planned marriage, "I've known Peter for a number of years and found him to be a gentleman. He and Mary have been going steady for a year now and seem to know one another very well. I'd rather see her marry a man closer to her own age than mine.

But they are in love." 16 Americans killed in Viet SAIGON (UPI)-The U.S. Command said today 16 Americans were killed in the Vietnam war last week and 84 wounded. Fifteen other GIs died from accidents and disease in the highest nonhostile death toll in a month. The combat death toll was three less than the previous and brought to 45,487 the number of Americans killed in battle since Jan. 1, 1961.

The new total of American wounded is 301,540. Police check two-car crash GROVE CITY Police investigated a rear end collision at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday on E. Main St. in which two drivers escaped injury.

According to police an auto operated by Kenneth L. Maxwell, 803 Tidball struck a truck driven by Wayne McFadden, 411 Maple St. Damages of $200 were listed for the truck while $500 damages were done to the Maxwell vehicle. Motorist arrested GROVE CITY City police cited Richard S. Hedglin, 50, of 331 E.

Pine with charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants Wednesday. Hedglin appeared before Magistrate Henry Moore and in default of $500 bond, was lodged in the Mercer County Jail. A hearing is scheduled Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. in Magistrate Moore's office.

World Sontoncod man hijacks piano BEIRUT (UPI)-A Palestinian guerrilla sentenced to death in Jordan pulled the safety pin from a grenade and hijacked a Jordanian jetliner to Iibya Wednesday with 56 other persons aboard. The plane returned safely to Amman. It was the first Palestinian guerrilla hijacking of an Arab ariliner. Jordanian Prime Minister Wasfi Tel denounced the hijacking today and said in a statement, "If the guerrilla leadership believes this kind of action is going to, achieve anything they are greatly mistaken. We in Jordan have made our attitudes very clear, and this kind of act will not affect us." Prosecution wins round FT.

MEADE, Md. (UPI)-The prosecution has won a preliminary legal round in its effort to prove that Col. Oran K. Henderson received reports of atrocities at My Lai in 1968 but failed to follow up with a thorough investigation. The military judge at Henderson's court-martial, Col.

Peter S. Wondolowski, ruled Wednesday after a round of arguments by the government and Henderson's chief defense attorneys that a witness could describe the angry complaints of a helicopter pilot about operations he said he found on the ground in the sweep during which an estimated 50 to over 100 unarmed civilians were killed. 407 are aboard troubled piano TELAVTV (UPI)-An El Al Boeing 747 with 407 persons aboard developed engine trouble 35 minutes out of Tel Aviv today and returned to make safe emergency landing after dumping most of its fuel into the Mediterranean. An El Al spokesman said Flight 15, bound for New York via London, carried 389 passengers and 18 crewmen. The pilot radioed after takeoff that he was turning back with unspecified engine problems.

With 20 ambulances, 40 fire engines and four army helicopters standing by at Lod International Airport, the plane circled over the Mediterranean for nearly an hour, dumping fuel to minimize the possibility of explosion and fire. All other flights were grounded in what the spokesman described as "normal emergency procedure." Hundreds of spectators broke into applause when the big jet touched down safely. The spokesman described the landing as "beautiful." Three Iranians change plea CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (UPI) In the second day of trial, three Iranians Wednesday changed their pleas to guilty in connection with the sleight-of-hand theft of $520 from two banks near here. Franklin County Judge John W.

Keller immediately sentenced Mohammadian Shabair, 23, Reza Trandjian, 21, and Aga Kaihatchi, 28, to one-year prison terms in Franklin County Jail. A fourth defendant, M. Eha-ban Allie Chaker, 25, maintained his innocence and his trial continued. Cahill arrives back in Dublin DUBLIN (UPI)-Joe Cahill, leader of the provisional wing of the outlawed Irish Republican Army (IRA) who was barred from entering the United States, promised on his arrival from New York today to step up terrorist violence in Northern Ireland. Cahill was barred from entering the United States Wednesday by U.S.

immigration authorities. Police cleared the area around passport control when the airliner landed in Dublin and four plainclothes detectives led Cahill away when he disembarked. Police sources said Cahill had been detained "for questioning" but gave no further details. Ramon J. Voltz to the position of assistant professor of mathematics beginning this semester, it was announced by Dr. W. W. Swezey, Dean of the College.

He will teach mathematics and will have as part of his responsibilities the supervision of practice-teaching of mathematics majors in the public schools and the instruction in Methods of Teaching Mathematics.
