The "Evening with Tennyson" held in the Eighth Avenue MethodiBt Episcopal cnurcn last evenine under the ausmces of the Epworth League Alliance was sureiy a delightful attraction. The muBi-cal numbers, instrumental and vocal. rendered during the evening by Miss Aiue iviepser, Miss Louise Snyder, Mrs. K.

C. Roup and Mr. Walter Garden. were much appreciated, while the lecture by Rev. Daniel Dorchester, of Christ juetnoaist episcopal church, Pittsburg, on "Alfred Tennyson," was a verv elab orate and informing discourse.

The chief ieature ot the lecture was a masterly analysis of "The Princess," a poem in which the whole "woman question" was discussed before it became a live issue. If the Epworth League Alliance of this city continues to furnish such literary entertainments free of charge to those who are minded to attend them, it will indeed do a good work. New To-day. W.
