To many also the flowers were an unusual sight, and aid enjoyed the ex-, dibits without restraint. The boys and g-irls were not the only children who enjoyed the nowers. T'here was a large proportion ol younger (people among the attendants and all seemed anxious to know as much about the names and varieties as did the older people.

One exhibit, which attracted special attention, was a lace plant, shown by Mr. Richard Gardner, from Mr. J. Van Alen's greenhouses at ''Wake- hurst." IThe shown will remain open until this evening, and although some of the cut flowers are withering under the heat, the growing plants, gardens and other more permanent exhibits are still worth The officials feel that the public has taken a greater interest in this year's show than in others given by the Horticultural Society and Garden As- Summer Dresses A remarkable gathering- of clever, quite different styles.
