For Pavia Soldier Set Sunday Funeral services for Pvt. David Burket who was killed in action Guadalcanal. B. S. Jan.

28, 1943 will be conducted Sunday afternoon at the Pavia Evangelical and Reformed church in charge of The Rev. Carl Imhoff. Military services will be held at the Osterburg Reformed cemetery. The body is expected to arrive from Columbus, Friday morning at 10:21 o'clock and will be removed to the Carn's funeral home, Claysburg, where friends will be' received until time of services. Pvt.

Burket was born Jan. 30, 1922, at Pavia, the son of Ross and Mazie (Weyandt) Burket. He attended the Pavia church and schools. He was a member of company 103rd infantry, Surviving are his parents and one brother, Ernest, Burket of Onalinda, Cambria county, and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Ling of Osterburg.

Michael Rupeka, discovered the flames on his way home from work, and thinking that the owners slept in the same building, severely injured his hand.

It is presumed that the fire was started by an oil burner and since no insurance was carried on the building the loss was total, Mr. Dempsie estimated that the loss may reach five or six thousand dollars. Registration Deadline Set The registration commission in Hollidaysburg Thursday issued a final reminder to unregistered electors of Blair county that Saturday, March 6, is the last day to enroll for the primary election of Tuesday, April 27. The office of registration commission on the ground floor of the courthouse will be open Friday from 9 to 4 o'clock and on Saturday from 9 to 12 o'clock to enroll new voters or to record changes of address or of party affiliation.

Electors are advised to use the Union street entrance. Another pre-election deadline will be reached Monday, March 8. the final day for the filing of petitions by candidates. Only candidates for election as members of the Republican or Democratic committee are required' to file at Hollidaysburg. Although no filing fee is required, the county board of elections reported today- that few citizens have presented petitions for election to membership on the county committee, especially in the boroughs and townships.
