Kandis Walbourn, Jere Wilmar Wike, spent the evening and had ice cream and birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Matthews spent the weekend of the 9th with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.

Ronald Anderson of Kittery, Maine. Mrs. Ruth Ross of Boyers, Mrs. Dorothy Yarger, Joan Winters and Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Geebel of New Castle were recent callers of Mrs. Thelma Walter and her daughter, Doris. Clarence Hoffman visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred McFadden recently.

While there he and Alfred called on their old friends, Lon Surrena and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Surrena and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Farren.

Mrs. Perry Hoffman has been laid up with an injured hip, received in a fall at home. Her recovery has not been as fast as friends had hoped. and Mrs. Sylvester Baker received a telephone call from his sister, Mrs. Irene Baker Jones of Tarpon Springs, last Monday morning, telling them of the death of her husband, Ralph Jones. Mr. Jones died following surgery.

He had been ill for sometime. He had cousins and many friends in this area. The Bakers will bring Mrs. Jones home with them. Mr.

and Mrs. Glenn Riddle recently called on their granddaughter, Gall Roxberry, who is a patient in the Greenville Hospital. She was in a car accident the day before she had planned to be married to Ronald Wareham of Stoneboro. Mrs. Harold Surrena is now a patient in the Grove City Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Alcorn attended the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Chutz at Slippery Rock.

A reception was held at the Penn Grove Hotel, Grove City, Mrs. Chutz is the former Linda Goching. Brad Matthews, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gay lord Matthews of Wesley celebrated his 7th birthday anniversary Saturday with his classmates of Victory School.

Approved for Penn State was a $1.5 million addition to the physical sciences building, a $400,000 conversion of Osmond Laboratory, a $1.8 million science building for the Mont Alto Campus in Franklin County and a $1.3 million classroom building for the York Campus. The other projects were: $1.2 million to renovate the electrical distribution system at Laurelton State School and pital in Union County.
