Dowdy. about six miles southeast of Cordele, and says that he will not be taken alive.

The friends of Studstill have offered a reward ot $200, and the tiovernor has offered more for bit arrest, making the total reward-of $300. A few days since Dowdy was surrounded at Seallie by a crowd ot men and would have been arrested but for the Interference of his friends. Bryant, of Mineral Townshiri, made the following report: i I have made a careful examination of the accounts and affairs of the county end feel satisfied that the county can readffy spare 25,000 out of next year's revenue, and pay, thereafter the sum of per year. The total revenue of the- county for the coming year will be $120.000, which enables us to pay all the necessary expenses of the County Government and make good the over--draft on last year's appropriations', beside paying -toward tue free bridge, We are satisfied that the county IBM be4ter condition financially than when the Court House, lad and other publie improvements were contracted for. The building of the free bridge is an improvement in which the great mass of the people are A mo ion to make the necessary appropriations for the 'erection of the bridge, was defeated by 28 to 20, The cost 'or the structure, as orininally agreed upon, was 275.000. ColE. W. Meier, of- the Heine Safety Boiler Company, spoke at some length, on the same suolect and of the desirability of an amalgamatien of the Interests of boiler manufacturers, boiler Inspectors and those of kindred interests, specting the question oto uniformity of In. speetion. Mayor Noonan arrived during the-discussion, and made a pleasant address of welcome to the -officers and delegates-to the Convention.

Quigley's recovery ne claimed that he had discovered evidence of Irregular transactions on the part of Plate as acting President. and application was made to Judge Field last May for an, injunction restraining Plate, Schenck and Abbott from officiating as officers of the company, or interferiug with its affairs Ia any way whatever. A temporary injunction was granted, and last Monday the case came before Judge Field on its merits. and to-day he made the InjuuctiOn perpetual. President Quigley also has a suit pending against Plate for $12.600 alleged to be due the Sedalia company, which will come up at slater date.

An Attorney Fined for Contempt. Special Dispatch to the Globe-Democrat. SPRINGFIELD. October lively scene occurred in the Greene County Circuit Court here to-day, betweea Judge Hubbard. on the bench, and Judge William C.

Price; tbe oldest member of the Springfield bar. The presiding Judge. In ruling against Judge Price on a legal point, expressed an opinion which the old attorney thought beyond the merits of the case and the propriety of the bench. Judge Price informed- the Court, with much sareasm, tnat he did not wish to receive a lecture on jurisprudence from such a source, Judge Hubbard commanded the eemplaining lawyer to sit down and keep quiet, but this the veteran counsel refused to do. but instead burled more insinuations against the dignity of the Court.

Judge Hubbard assessed a fine of $50, againal Judge Price, and told him he was disbarred till the money' should be paid. This excited Judge Price greatly, and he made other reflections on the Court. Judge Hubbard asked the ettorney to retract his words and allow the tine to be remitted, but Judge Price was obstinate and refused to make any retraction. The Court finally decided that the order disbarring Judge Price was without proper authority, but said the fine should be paid Or the attorney committed to jail. An order to commit Judge Price 'elan fill the fine, should be paid was then made, but its enforcement suspended till to-morrow morning, to give the offender time to make the required The affair has caused much comment among the members of the bar- Suit for infringement of Patent.

Special Dispatch to the Globo-Democrat. CalCaGO, October 7.Philip Armour and Nelson Morris, the two big packers, are about to have' a tilt in the United States courts. Mr. Armour, under the name of the. Franco-American Patent Can Opening Company, composed of the firm Of Armour tale morning entered suit in the United States Circuit Court against the Fairbank Canning Company, the majority of the stock of which Is owned by Nelson Morris, his son and F.

E. Vogel. It is charged that the defendant company is infringing upon the complainant's patent for making sheet metal cans in which meat is packed. and that the infringement began the 25th of last month and still continues. The Court is asked to enjoin the defendants from using the process.
