13 at her home. She was 73. Born Jan. 20, 1914, in Alta Vista, she was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Stanley; sisters, Velma Farrar of Hayward and Mildred Bemis of San Jose; and brother, Milfore E.

Ailes, a four-year Escondido resident, died Dec. 7 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Fort Smith, Ark. He was 76. Born Sept. 21, 1911, in Bettie, Texas, he lived in Carlsbad for 25 years before moving to San Marcos.

He lived in San Marcos for three years, and then moved to Escondido. He was a retired loan officer of 15 years for Bank of America at Camp Pendleton. In 1956, he retired as a sergeant major in the Marine Corps, after 26 years of service. He was active during World War II and the Korean War. He was a Master Mason and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elsie; son, Dennis M. Ailes of Escondido; and one grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McLeod Mortuary Escondido Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Riverside National Cemetery with full military honors. McLeod Mortuary Escondido Chapel is handling arrangements. Mona 'Jean Webb RANCHO PENASQUITOS Mona Jean Webb, a three-year Rancho Penasquitos resident, died of cancer Dec. 14 at her home.

She was 54. Born April 19, 1933, in Timblin, she provided missionary service as a teacher for 32 years, having last taught Spanish at Point Loma Nazarene College for three years. She also taught Spanish-speaking students at the Lydia Patterson Institute in El Paso, Texas, and in the Pasadena city schools. She graduated in 1955 from Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky. She, along with her husband, the Rev.

Larry J. Webb, traveled as missionaries to the West Indies and Mexico. They also became directors of the Institute Biblico Nazareno in La Paz, Bolivia. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Larry J.

Wrebb; sons, David, Randall and Ronald Webb, all of Rancho Penasquitos; father, Samuel M. Reichard of Cranberry, brother, Edwin Reichard of Verona, and two sisters, Margaret Snyder and Betty Sor-rentino, both of Tempe, Ariz. Visitation will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rancho Penasquitos Church of the Nazarene, 10060 Carmel Mountain Road. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m.

Friday at the church. Interment will follow at El Camino Memorial Park. Pauline Nostdal McPherson ESCONDIDO Pauline Nostdal McPherson, a 15-year Escondido resident, died Dec.

11 at a local convalescent hospital. She was 78. Born Aug. 14, 1909, in Rugby, N.D., she was a registered nurse for 40 years. She graduated as a registered nurse from Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis in 1932 and worked for many years in Texas before moving to Escondido.

She was also an artist and worked on a method for reverse painting on glass, as well as on a technique for film etching. She is survived by her sister, Rosemary Longmire of Escondido; brother, James Nostdal of San Diego; and several nieces and nephews. A private family service is planned. Geraldine M. Griffin OCEANSIDE Geraldine M.

Griffin, a former 17-year Escondido resident, died Dec. 12 at Palomar Hospital. She was 83. Born April 18, 1904, in Chicago, she moved from Escondido to Oceanside one year ago. She worked as a cashier for more than 20 years in Minneapolis, where she lived most of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Peterson of Vista; son, William Griffin of Overland Park, brother, Joe Clements of Oceanside; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial Mass will be held at noon Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Church of the Resurrection in Escondido. Born Nov. 20, 1959, in Charlotte, N.C., he lived in Escondido before moving to Carlsbad. He was an auto mechanic for 10 years and last worked for Toyota of Carlsbad. He graduated from Orange Glen High School in 1977. He enjoyed surfing and softball.

He is survived by his parents, Joanne and Ronald Lewis Ruse Sr. of Escondido; sisters. Susan Lynn Fisher of Oceanside, Laurie Mallon and Dianne Ruse, both of Escondido, and Cindy Graham of Hemet; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Alpha Walton of Temecula; and paternal grandmother, Ruth Ruse of Fresno. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary chapel in Escondido.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel with the Rev. Smith a Vista resident, died Dec. 13 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in La Jolla. He was 61. Born Dec. 25, 1925, in Brooklyn, he was a police officer for 27 years with the New York City Police Department.

He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara; daughters, Linda Trower of New York, N.Y., Karen Smith of San Diego, Sandra Lane and Melanie Smith, both of Vista; sons, Robert Smith of Fayetteville, N.C., Paul, Shyheem and Alfredo E. Smith all of Vista; sisters, Elsie Barre of Brooklyn, Eleanor Young and Grace Smith, both of Norfolk, brother, William Smith of Brooklyn; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 5:30 p.m., today, at Allen Brothers Mortuary chapel in Vista.

A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church of Vista. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery Mildred Wiebel Neuman ESCONDIDO Mildred Wiebel Neuman, a homemaker and 30-year Escondido resident, died Dec. 12 at her home.

She was 87. Born in Malden, 111., she lived in Salem, for 31 years before moving to Escondido. She received publicity for her active role in Maranatha. a volunteer church building group, and she was a lifetime member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She enjoved golfing, shuffleboard and billiards.

She is survived by her son, Louis A. Neuman of Salem; daughter, Jo Anne Johnson of Loma Linda; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 1 a.m. Monday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Escondido.
