For to I C4 TIMES-ADVOCATE, Escondido, Wednesday, June 18, 1986 Obituaries Robert G. Baldwin FALLBROOK Robert G. Baldwin, an advertising executive and co-owner of Lansdale and Baldwin Co. in the Los Angeles area before retiring, died June 13 at Fallbrook Hospital. He was 79.

He was born in Oak Park, and had lived in Fallbrook for 31 years. Mr. Baldwin was a life member of the UCLA Alumni Association and the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He was very active in local civic affairs, and had been a past president of the Fallbrook American Field Service; chairman, volunteer and supporter of the United Way in San Diego and North County; past chairman of the Boy Scouts, San Luis Rey District; a board member of the Fallbrook Friends of the Library; and was active with the Fallbrook Music Society. He is survived by his wife, Jane Tait Baldwin; sons Robert A.

Baldwin of Orange; daughter Valerie Baldwin Tryon of Portland; sisters Valerie Baldwin Oliver of Los Angeles and Betty Baldwin Noble of Van Nuys; and four grandchildren. Private family services and inurnment were held. Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary handled the arrangements. Sandre Margaret Cockrell LODI Sandre Margaret Cockrell, a professional artist and former resident of Escondido, died June 15 at a Lodi hospital. She was 82.

Mrs. Cockrell was born in Kansas and had lived in Escondido for 30 years before moving to Lodi in 1982. She gave oil-painting lessons and sold her artwork at her studio on Valley Parkway in Escondido. She was al also the former owner-operator of the Village Frame store in the Escondido Village Mall. She was a member of the Lodi Woman's Club and of several bridge clubs.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil; daughter Glory Hudson of Lodi; five grandchildren; and three -grandchildren. Private services are planned. The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 751 Rancheros Road, San Marcos, Calif. 92069. Frances M.

'Becky' Heifner RAMONA Frances M. "Becky" Heifner, a service representative for Pacific Telephone Co. in Ramona for 28 years before retiring, died June 15 at Pomerado Hospital. She was 66. She was born in Lincoln, and had lived in Ramona for 37 years.

Her hobbies included knitting and walking. She is survived by her nieces, Carolyn Buehrer of Waverly, Iowa, and Debbie Schnoebelen of Plano, Texas; nephew William Groh of Texas; and friend Marie West of Singer Dean Reed dies in accident BERLIN (AP) Dean Reed, an American-born singer whose boyish good looks and work to promote world peace won him a legion of fans in the Communist bloc, has died in East Germany, where he lived since 1972. He was 47. East Germany's state-run news agency reported Reed died from a "tragic accident," but provided no other details. His mother, Ruth Anna Brown, said in Honolulu she was told her son died Tuesday while swimming in a lake near his home.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; son Christopher Michelson of Ramona; daughter Dawn Michelson of Ramona; mother Violet Michelson of La Puente; brothers Tom Michelson of Ramona and Duane Michelson of Winnemucca, and sister Donna Williams of La Puente.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Walton Chapel in Carson City. Interment will be at Fredricksburg Cemetery in California. Bonham Bros. and Lee Mortuary is in charge of the local arrangements.

Ruth MacDonald Meek FALLBROOK Ruth MacDonald Meek, a retired sales clerk, died June 14 at Fallbrook Hospital. She was 68. She was born in Watervliet, N.Y., and had lived in Fallbrook for four years. She was a former resident of Escondido, where she had lived for 10 years. She had served in the U.S.

Navy. Survivors include her husband, Wendell son Michael A. Meek of Vista; sisters Edith Burley of Vista and Jean Prchal of San Diego; and three grandchildren. Memorials services with military honors will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Base Chapel at Camp Pendleton.

Chaplain Frank Henderson will officiate. Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Harold C. Painter FALLBROOK Harold C. Painter, a self-employed underground pipeline construction worker before retiring, died June 16 at Fallbrook Hospital.

He was 86. He was born in Spring Valley, and had lived in Fallbrook since 1967. Survivors include his daughters, Patricia R. McCord of Escondido and Esther M. Tinker of Carmel; sisters Margaret Painter Modesto, Bernice Taylor of Chicago and Leta Wheeler of Daly City; five grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Berry- -Bell and Hall Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Rainbow Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. The Rev.

Schwab FALLBROOK Eleanor M. Schwab, a homemaker, died June 13 at a convalescent hospital in Sun City, Calif. She was 79. She was born in Sheffield, Iowa, and had lived in Fallbrook since 1957. She was a life member of the Fallbrook Pink Ladies Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia M. Fleming of Fallbrook; grandchildren Deborah Taylor of Augusta, Donna Scott of Highland and Alexander Fleming of San Luis Obispo; and two great-grandsons. services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eternal Hills Cemetery with retired Dr. Irvin Cole officiating.

Marshall H. 'Speed' Garriss ESCONDIDO Marshall H. "Speed" Garriss, a regional purchasing agent for Matson Navigation Co. in Hawaii for 40 years before retiring, died June 15 at Palomar Memorial Hospital. He was 70.

Mr. Garriss was born in Rockingham, N.C., and had lived in Escondido for 10 years. He was a former member of the Escondido Country Club. He had lived for 40 years in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary; son Chip Garriss of Kona, Hawaii; daughter Marsha Betz of Texas; brother Reid Garris of North Carolina; and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 341 S. Kalmia Escondido, with the Rev. Earl Guy officiating.
