Big Negro Kills Little Negro By Wire to The Sun. Petersburg, Aug. 7. William Ellis, owner of a livery stable here, and one of the most respected colored men in this; city, shot and killed a young negro named John Johns In self defense this afternoon. Johns was a tenant to Ellis and the men fought earlier in the day about a matter of repairs.
