Congratulated recently on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the opening of his first store, Kresge reiterated the statement he made in 1024 when he established the Foundation: "I get a greater thrill out of the idea of serving others than anything else on earth." The 55 local men and women employed in Dunkirk Kresge stores are eligible for the company's free insurance, vacations up to four weeks with pay, pensions, Christmas remembrances and the opportunity to win cash awards through the employees suggestion system.

The board of education held their regular monthly meeting Thursday evening at Brocton Central school at which time three new teachers were announced for the coming year They are Miss Harriet Hess of Klllbuck. a four year graduate of Cortland State Teachers college, who will take over the du ties of physical education instructor next September replacing Miss Arlone Coomb whose resignation will be effective in June; iMi.ss Priscllla White of Moravia, a graduate of Genesco State Teachers college, will be the librarian replacing Miss Genevieve Ivett who Is also resigning.

Vernon Jones, a Fredonia State Teachers college graduate, will assume his duties In the Junipr school In September. Under discussion at this meeting was the possible acquisition of two new school busses. According to Leslie Rosslter, chairman of the board, the school has received advance notice that the public service commission is anticipating asking Brocton Central school to replace two of its present busses because of their condition and the fact that they are more than ten years old ana have more than 100,000 miles to their credit. Representatives from Mack Motor Reo Motor Brockway Motors, Oncida Body Works, and Superior Body Works were represented at the meeting and later will submit bodies for approval.
