Mother Daughter Banquet Hostessed By Church Group "Queen for a Day was the theme for the annual Mother Daughter Banquet of the Kings Daughters of the Emmanuel Faith Community Church held Saturday evening.

The bride-elect was feted at a pre-nuptial bridal gift shower Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Elmer Field. Co-hostesses- for the party were Mrs. Wilfred Purdum and Mrs. Eugene Bussey of Oceanside.

The stage of the hall was decorated with flowers and ivy entwined on two trellises and was centered with an oversize May basket. Candles were used also in the stage decor. Programs were in the shape of May baskets and tables around the hall were centered with stock in May baskets. Pastel streamers lined the tables. Large old-fashioned nosegays decorated the walls and at the entrance was placed a large May basket.

The buffet table, where chicken salad was served as main course at midnight, was centered with a basket tied with tulle and filled with stock and roses. Dancing during the evening featured a mixer, the David Crockett dance. Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Willis were chairmen of the committee for the evening and were assisted by Messrs, and Mmes Marvin Krichman, Ted McCain, Harold Cook and Fred McCarty.

The first annual Palomar Regional Art Exhibit at the Lazy Sky Ranch ended Monday after being held over a week on popular demand. Local artists showing work at the exhibit included Mary Austin of Palomar, Esther Bell of Pauma Valley, Edward Colby of Pauma, Genevieve Golsh of Rincon, Lee Le Blanc of Pauma Valley and Marjorie Reed of Julian.

In all. 19 county artists were represented. Ceorge DeMolay Slates Installation of 1955-56 Officers Ronald Creigh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Creigh and sophomore student at Escondido Union High School, will be installed as master councilor of the Escondido DeMolay Chapter Saturday, May 11.

With his election to the highest office of the local chapter, Creigh follows in the footsteps of his brother, Dave, who last year served as master councilor of the state DeMolay organization. Installation ceremonies will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Masonic Hall. Other elective officers who will serve with Creigh for the ensuing six-months term are: Senior councilor, Neal Bristow; junior councilor, Jim Barth, and treasurer, Gordon Budd. Appointive officers who will be installed are: Scribe, John Burns; senior deacon, Jeff Hunter; junior deacon, Steve Johnson; senior steward, Frank Herald unior steward, Brian Greenwood; chaplain, Darian Dopp; marshall, Ronald Lewis; almoner, Jack Herman; standard bearer, Albert Warman; sentinel, Warren Shaw; orator, Bob Walker; first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh preceptors, respectively, Gary Clayton Hornung, Bob Rogers, Charles Byers, Bob Schmeeckle, Bill Blunt, and Tom Crawford; chapter editor, Jack Raymond, and minute man, Bob Lapossa.

Ill Party Marks Finish Of First Production Of Drama Group Here Hidden Town Players finished a six day run of its first performance. Dennis of Escondido Studios of Music and Arts. Emblem Presenfs Minstrel Show For 250 Persons Some 250 persons were In the audience at the Arcade Hall last Thursday evening for the Emblem Clubs second annual Minstrel Show staged to benefit the Elks Lodge building fund. Betty Drake, local Emblem member, who was recently named Miss Emblem of California, opened the show. Bob Warren was interlocutor.

Minstrels were Dee Stahl, Delores Krogh, Mae Ingraham, Jane Jackson, Shirley Patterson, Naomi Halcomb and Mamie Smith. Acts included dances by Marge Newby and Bobby Warren, Patty Willis and Jo Moring and solos by Connie 'Hansen, Lois Foster and Jack Copeland. Accompanists were Douglas Scott and Genevieve Christie. Eddy Howards band provided music also. Merwyn Ryker, Lenita Barrett, Cydney Allen and Vivian Blackwood were featured in a novelty dance, billed as the "Pickininny Four, Leroy Hansen presented a Dangerous Dan McGrew was presented in skit by Genevieve Christie, Ruth Potts, Marge Wo-line, Georgia Copeland, Rosamae Sabin, Effie Fritz, Thelma Schniepp and Norma Messer smith.
