Wardensville High leads the 10- Beall Edges (Continued from Page 14) pass. But, Wilkinson was the hero of the game. Besides being instrumental in Bruce's coring he picked a man ofl base in the sixth during Central's only scoring threat. The club circuit with a 2-0 record, but team must play at least eight games to be eligible for the league's championship, thus putting Franklin with a 6-1 standing on top.

The Panthers close their Conference slate with a return game with the Romney Silents. Ed Wimer paced the Franklin tossers by hurling two-hit ball. Kelley accounted for both of the Silents' hits. A three-run outburst in torn of the fourth enabled Petersburg to tate the measure of Keyser. Kessel worked on the mound for the Vikings and allowed seven hits while Homan and Smith hurled for Keyser and limited the winners to four hits.

On that day Eddie will ride Mrs. Walter Jefford's fleet colt, One Count, in the $75,000 Freakness. Eddie also will be gunning for his fifth Preakness victory. It has become almost a habit with him, a habit that has added greatly to the already-swollen Arcaro bankroll. Eddie figures the 15 stakes he already has won this year were worth around $100,000 to the lucky owners of the horses he rode.

And Eddie' didn't do too badly either, since he got ten per cent of the purses. Eddie said he figured he had the Preakness and the $100,000 Belmont all sewed up until Hill Gail, which he rode to victory in the $100,900 Kentucky Derby went wrong. "But you never can tell," he added. "This colt One Count looks as if the mile and three sixteenths of the Preakness might be right down his alley. They tell me he was coming strongest of all at the finish of the Withers Mile Saturday when he ran second to Armageddon.

In other contests, Potomac Valley slaughtered Ellerslie, 15-3, at Triple Lakes and LaVale edged Itringtown, 6-4, at. Stririgtown.

Toler and Glen Kauffman were hooked up in'a pitching duel, although the Kegs held a 5-1 advan- going into the last frame. The lorgs, rallied and pushed runs off Toler and had two on and-two away when Whitman picked out one to his liking and slashed it deep into right, setting the stage for Woodson's "Merrlwell" catch. Potomac Valley won its first game as Gilbert Lease scattered nine Ellerslie bingles. Vernon Lowery, with a triple and two singles, paced the losers.

3. Reds And Cardinals In Four-Player Swap Cincinnati Beds and the St. Louis Cardinals may have solved- a couple of their most pressing problems with a four-player' swap. Gabe Paul, Cincinnati general manager, announced last night the Reds were sending outfielder Dick Sisler and shortstop Virgil Stallcup to the Cards in a straight exchange, for outfielder Wally Westlake and infielder Eddie Kazak. The key figures in the deal, however, appeared to be Sisler and Westlake.

The Reds have been sorely in need of a center fielder since rookie Wally Post then tiad to have an operation. Westlake is supposed to plug that hole and let Johnny Wyrbstek, a right fielder by trade, go bade to his regular spot. Wyrostek has been filling in at center field. St. Louis needs a first baseman.

Only yesterday they sent bulky Steve Bilko back to the minors and they've been using Stan Musial at first. Sisler played considerable first base with the Cards in his first hitch with them and again, at times with the Philadelphia Phils. As a result, the dope seemed to be that he'd take over the Cardinal first base chores and thus let Muslal get back to the outfield which he prefers. (INS) Philadelphia Athletics had a new utility outfielder-inflelder today in Sherry Robertson, whom they bought from the Washington Senators. A's General Manager Arthur Ehlers announced the deal, but did not disclose the price.

Robertson, 33, played in 62 games last season, mostly as a pirichhitter. He is a nephew of Clark Griffith, owner of the Nats. Class Meeting Set KEYSER Mrs. Bane's Sunday School Class of Grace Methodist Church will meet Friday at 7:30 p. at the home of Mrs.
