SQUARE DANCE LESSONS The first in a series of square dance lessons, sponsored by the Middletown Town Howlers Square Dance dub, will be held Monday at -8 p.m. atthe home of Mr. and Mrs. Selden Richardson on O'Donnell Road. The classes will be held weekly, but after the third week registrations will be closed.

CTO IN DIALOGUE MASS The Catholic Youth Organization of St. Lucy's Church in Middletown will take part in a dialogue mass tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in the church. A Holy Hour at 6:30 p.m. will precede the regular CYO meeting.

St. Matthew's Church Schedules Services The title of the Rev. Charles M. Hall's sermon for a.m. service at St.

Matthew's Church in Jamestown is "Wist Ye Not?" Holy Communion service will be conducted at 8 o'clock with church school scheduled at 9:45 in the parish house. Mrs. Anthony Dell and Miss Jean Dell are In charge of the parish nursery at the 11 o'clock service. A meeting of the vestry was held last night in the parish house. On Tuesday the guild will hold its first meeting of the year in the parish house at 8 p.m.

Cub Leaders At Round Table A large group of cubmasters, den mothers, and committeemen from Newport County attended the Cub-Scout leaders round table at The Anchorage Hall in Middletown on Thursday night. Pack 2 of Newport, sponsored by St. Mary's Church, wes' host, with John F. Dutra, cubmaster, in charge of arrangements. Francis J.

Marshall, assistant district commissioner, was moderator. The theme for the month was based oh the 50th anniversary of Boy Scouting. Articles of craft work painted in gold, including games dating back to 1910, were oh display, with the articles graduating up to the present era. At the conclusion of the exhibition, a training session pertaining to den meetings, was held, with James T. M.

Pierson Jr. the instructor. A film strip explaining the functions of the den meetings was shown, Certificates will be issued for this session, which will be used toward credit on the training award. Mention was made that Cub Scout Pack 2 Middletown collected- truckloads of toys and "delivered them to the Marine Barracks, for repair for the Christmas "Toys for Tots" project. Jamestown Hoop League Opens The Red Devils edged the Blue Angels, 20-19, in the Recreation Center last night, in a thriller to open the 1960 Jamestown Junior Basketball "League; Vilangs' topped "the Royal Swishers in the other contest, 28-19. Angels led 10-8 at the half, but were tied at the end of the third l6-all.

The Red Devils went -five points ahead at the start of the final period and fought off. a desperate attempt by the lossrs to rally in the last three minutes. Two men were taken off the huge ice flee on which the station is located Thursday.
