BOUNTY, off Tahiti (AP)--Marlon Brando fastened a rubber band around his slightly graying locks to keep them from flying in the wind. "What a said the actor, his hair grown long for his as Fletcher Christian in "Mutiny On the Bounty." Brando leaned against the rigging of the majestic three-master, anchored off Papeete, under a leaden sky.

A hundred film makers were waiting--at $23,000 the day for sunshine that never came. Except for his flapping hair, Brando seemed little concerned about the delay, r.or did he appear happy that the film company would be returning to Hollywood early because of the rainy season. 'Hie company took a chance that the rains would come late, but they didn't, and its members have begun heading home. Brando and crew will return when the rains end. On the first day of shooting 10 weeks ago, lie remarked to director Carol Reed: "I'm sorry to see this day come.

It just moans one day sooner that we will be going back states." He gazed at the Tahitian shore with lls groves ot curved-trunk cocoa palms and lhp green hills and purple peaks beyond. "I'll hale lo leave," he said. "This is the first time In 10 years that I've been able to ieel comforta among people." In Tahiti, Brando can. walk the slrcels unnoticed. It's not because the people don't know who he Is; many do.

But Tahitians never bother their fellow man, and Brando has achieved an anony- mily he hasn't known since he became a star. Some may think it unusual foi a man to be a movie star aix want to remain anonymous. Bui then, as the "world well Brando is not the usual kind star. Director Reed, who has an Englishman's restraint of cxpres sion, has said, "there Is no more exciting, no greater actor in th' world today." And he said it be fure a group ol distinguished Bri lish actors appearing in "Mu liny." As Brando relaxed aboard thi Bounty, the talk turned to th Curfew Reminder Urged For Parents BOSTON (AP) A Massachusetts state senator, calling for a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

He passed that stage and became more serious about life. He grew bitter nbout press coverage his wrangles with ex-wife Anna Kash- li. Now he has stringent rules.

"I won't answer any persona! questions and I won't any. thing about myself," he has said, "1( a friend starts to read some tiling about me, I stop him. It makes me physically ill."
