Such juries in this state are lermitted only in four New York Jity counties--Manhattan, The Xronx, Queens and Brooklyn. The repealing bill, sponsored by Assemblyman William C.

jrennan, Queens Democrat, was assed unanimously and without debate. The measure was sent to the Senate, where an identical bill las been introduced by Sen. Thomas J. Mackell, also a Queens Democrat. The latter bill is before the Senate Judiciary The law authorizing blue-ribbon juries was enacted in 1901.

Such juries may be drawn both for civil and criminal trials. Former Gov. Thomas E. Dewey, as the racket-busting special prosecutor in Manhattan, and later as district attorney, obtained a large number of convi 'ions after trials before blue-ribbon juries.
