Nick Van Exel was just in the groove. Burton, released last month by the Miami Heat, helped the Philadelphia 76ers win Tuesday night by scoring 53 points against his old team in a 105-90 win. It was the top performance in the NBA this season, and it even outdid Michael Jordans 52-point scoring record set at Philadelphias Spectrum on Nov.

16, 1988. Im going to have a hard time sleeping tonight, said Burton, waived by the Heat on Nov. 3 and picked up by the 76ers five days later. I just want to savor this. While Burton was hitting layups galore against Miami, the Lakers Van Exel was putting on a 3-point display against the Dallas Mavericks.

Van Exel made eight of 16 3-pointers for 35 points in Los Angeles 115-108 victory against a Dallas team distracted by a midgame spat between forward Roy Tarpley and coach Dick Motta that led to Tar-pleys suspension. Van Exel, who matched his career high, looked like he couldnt miss from long range in the fourth quarter, hitting on four of six 3-pointers to help break open a tight game. "In the fourth quarter they just kept giving the ball to me," Van Exel said. I wanted to shoot every time I got it. It was Dragoo to graduate from ASU From Register Sports Reports TEMPE, Ariz.

The reserve consists of 93 acres of old-growth riparian habitat at the junction of the Napa River and Conn Creek. It is located in Napa County about a quarter-mile west of the Silverado Trail on Yountville Crossroad.

This gives our chapter a welcome opportunity to help provide the public with access to the last remaining land which provides a glimpse of the Napa River prior to agricultural development, said Jerry Karr, president of the Audubon chapter. The trail will be both entertaining and informative. The grant provides funds for a descriptive sign, posts marking points of interest, two benches, a portable public toilet, and the printing of a bird list, a plant and mammal list, and a descriptive brochure. It was supported by Brian Hunter, until recently the Department of Fish and Game Regional Manager, and by William Bickell, Director of Public Works for Napa County. These two agencies share responsibility for the administration of the reserve.

Completion of the project is expected by mid-summer of 1995. THE FISH AND GAME Commission took action to modify its regulations to allow the Department of Fish and Game to open part of the Joice Island Unit of Grizzly Island Wildlife Area for a special opportunity hunt during the second half of the 1994-95 waterfowl season. Existing regulations provide that no hunting take place on the Joice Island, Cordelia Slough and Montezuma Slough Units of Grizzly Island Wildlife Area. These units are wetland habitats set aside as sanctuary areas available to waterfowl in the Suisun Marsh providing relatively undisturbed locations for birds to congregate and remain in the marsh. Grizzly Islands Pond 12 and Hill Slough Wildlife Area north of the Potrero Hills are also wetland sanctuaries closed to hunting.

Joice Islands Ponds and will remain closed to hunting. Joice Island has not been open to waterfowl hunting for the past 11 years. Acquired in 1931, many of the old-time waterfowl hunters remember Joice Island as a quality hunting area. The Departments management of Joice Island includes periodically offering hunting on a limited basis when waterfowl numbers in the Suisun Marsh warrant its opening. Evaluation of this years waterfowl use of the Suisun Marsh indicated one of the best duck flights in recent years.

The Department will open Joice Islands Ponds A and to a maximum of 35 waterfowl hunters on a first-come, first-served basis, Sundays only, at the Grizzly Island Wildlife Area check station. Approximately 700 acres will be open to hunting on Sundays, Dec. 18 and Jan. 8 and 15. Access will be walk-in only.

There are no established blinds on Ponds A and B. Hunters will be allowed to use bicycles on the road into the unit. This limited opportunity is being offered on an experimental basis to allow hunters to return to a portion of wetlands in the Suisun Marsh well known for its long tradition as a quality waterfowl hunting area, i 1 even lower! corrpe tive pr ces RoadHandler SCR SuperGuard GT wearout warranty wearout warranty AS LOW AS 155TR12BW 29.99 AS LOW AS P18575SR14 44.99 155TR13BW 165TR13BW 175TR14BW 17570TR13BW 1057OTR13BW 17570TR148W 18570TR14BW 19570TR14BW 20570TR14BW 18565TR158W 19560TR14BW 19560TR158W Thru 12 $39 99 46 99 55 99 56 99 58 99 60 99 60 99 64 99 69 99 73 99 73 99 74 99 P19575SR14 P20575SR14 P20575SR15 P17570SR13BW P18570SR14 P19570SR14BW P20570SR14 P20570SR15 P21570SR15 P20565SR15BW P21565SRI5 P21560SR16BW Thru 17 $47 99 49 99 54 99 44 99 49 99 52 99 54 99 59 99 62 99 59 99 64 99 74 99 7 ARDSMANTGUARDSMANTGUARDSMANKoooaFX GUARDSMAN!
