Musician ATASCADERO (AP) Chuck Greenberg, the musician who combined New Age fusion with sounds from around the world as leader of the band Shadowfax, has died. He was 45. 25. He was 57. Mr. Wright, who attended St. Helena High School, is survived by three daughters, Celeste Foster of Deer Park, Christie Kennedy of Santa Rosa and Cindy Baxter of Redding; one son, Troy of Deer Park; his mother, Betty Wright of Calistoga; a brother, Douglas of San Bruno; three sisters, Abby Jones of St.

Helena, Sally Knab of Puyollup, and Linda Smith of Lotus; five grandchildren; and three nieces and three nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Westminster Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 1428 Spring St. Helena. Arrangements were under the direction of McDonald Funeral Chapel, Redding, where a service was held Aug.

31. Fred Bates YOUNTVILLE Fred Orval Bates, who served as a CPL in the Marines during World War II, died Aug. 19 at the Veterans Home. A brick mason for 30 years, he is survived by five children, Suzanne Dusky, Robert, Rebecca, Debra and Fred all of California. He will be honored at the monthly memorial service at Memorial Chapel of the Veterans Home in Yountville at 10 a.m.

Thursday. Philip Faber YOUNTVILLE Philip Faber, who served as a sergeant in the Air Force during World War II, died Aug. 11 at the Veterans Home. He was 72. Mr.

Faber, who later worked as an aircraft assemblyman and van driver in the Los Angeles area, has no known survivors. He will be honored at the monthly memorial service at the Veterans Home Memorial Chapel in Yountville on Thursday at 10 a.m. John Foorman YOUNTVILLE John Foorman, who served as a Sgt. during World War II in the Army, died Aug. 23 at the Veterans Home.

He was 82. Mr. Forman, who worked an aircraft mechanic, 20 years for Federal Service and nine years for the City of Reno, is survived by two sisters, Helen Seifert of Sacramento and Hazel Vinas of Reno; one brother, Nick of Sacramento; and a niece. He will be honored at the monthly memorial service of the Veterans Home in Yountville in Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Gladys Giles YOUNTVILLE Gladys Ann Giles, who was a nurse with the Air Force in the Philippines on Corregidor Island, died Aug. 18 at the Veterans Home. He was the leader and producfor Shadowfax, which won a Grammy award in 1989 for the album "Folk Songs for a Nuclear Village," and received a Grammy nomination for a 1992 album, "Esperanto." An accomplished saxophonist Mrs. Giles, a member of the Veterans Home for five years, is survived by her daughter, Sally Helder of San Francisco. She will be honored at the monthly memorial service held Memorial Chapel of the VeterHome in Yountville at 10 a.m.

Thursday. Joseph Graziani YOUNTVILLE Joseph Paul Graziani, a member of the Veterans Home since March 1994, died there Aug. 20. He was 76. A PFC in the Army during World War II, he is survived by a brother, Charles of San Francisa sister, Maria Starelli of Fairfax; and a niece.

Mr. Graziani will be honored the 10 a.m. Thursday monthmemorial service at the VeterHome Memorial Chapel in Yountville. Clinton James YOUNTVILLE Clinton Spencer James, a member of the Veterans Home for 16 years, died there Aug. 24.

He was 93. Mr. James, a PFC 1 in the Army during World War II, has known survivors. He will be honored at the monthly memorial service at Memorial Chapel of the Veterans Home in Yountville on Thursday 10 a.m. James Jones YOUNTVILLE James Lemuel Jones, who served in the Marine Corp for 28 years retiring a lieutenant colonel, died Aug.

31 at the Veterans Home. was 79. A resident of the Veterans Upcoming services and flute player, Greenberg was an early user of synthesized woodwind sounds. Shadowfax was named after winged horse in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, "The Hobbit," Flaschen said.

Elwood Neyer YOUNTVILLE Ellwood Daniel Neyer, who worked as an electrician for 40 years, died Aug. 24 at the Veterans Home. He was 74. A sergeant in the Army during World War II, he is survived two sons, David of San FrancisCO and Charles of Virginia Beach, and one daughter. Mr.

Neyer will be honored the monthly memorial service the Veterans Home in Yountville in Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday. Charles Prescott YOUNTVILLE Charles Edward Prescott, who served as captain in the Army during World War II, died Aug. 27 at the Veterans Home. He was 77.

Mr. Prescott, who worked the entertainment industry over 45 years, is survived three sons, Michael of Petaluma, and Charles and William, both of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Susan Farren of Livermore, Ruth Ann Hamer of Washington, D.C., and Lillian Sanches of San Jose; and eight grandchildren. He will be honored at the monthly memorial service of Veterans Home in Yountville Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday.
