Rudolfo Accornero Rudolfo "Rudy" Accornero, 89, of Highland died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland. He was born Jan. 16, 1911, at Kilsyth, W.Va., to Giovanni "John" Vincent and Malvina Columbia (Fracchia) Accornero. On Feb.

11, 1945, he married Anna Calabro at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Belmont, and she survives in Pocahontas. Other survivors include a daughter, Anitamarie A. (Martin) Nahstoll of Wildwood, Mo; three sons, John R. Accornero of Troy, Richard J.

(Karen Accornero of Pocahontas and James S. (Marilyn) Cryder of Trenton; three grandchildren, Jody L. Accornero and Chad R. Accornero of Pocahontas and Nicholas M. Nahstoll of Wildwood; a sister, Erma M.

Accornero of Pocahontas; and a brother, Louis L. "Luigi" (Mary) Accornero of Pocahontas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pierina "Patsy" Accornero. Visitation was held Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. The 10 a.m.

funeral Mass on Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron was celebrated by Ret. Rev. Msgr. Paul W. Sheridan.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Pierron. Alphonse Ottenschnieder Alphonse Ottenschnieder, 85, of Aviston died, Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Breese. He was born Aug. 27, 1914, at Aviston to Anna (Sudholt) and Frank Ottenschnieder.

Survivors include three nephews, Frank Ottenschnieder and Jim (Shirley) Ottenschnieder of Albers and Joe (Marilyn) Ottenschnieder of Aviston; and great-nieces and greatnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Henry and Leo Ottenschnieder. Alphonse was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. He was a farmer.

Visitation was held -Friday evening and Saturday morning at Brefeld Funeral Home in Aviston. The Rev. Dan Friedman presided at the 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday at St. Francis Church.

Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery, Aviston. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Church. Clara Billhartz Leona Bruns Clara A.

Billhartz, 95, of Albers, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah. She was born March 11, 1905, at Germantown to Ann (Albers) and Theodore Kniepmann On May 21, 1924, she married Edward A. Billhartz Sr. at St. Boniface Church, Germantown.

Survivors include five sons, Edward (Lou) Billhartz James (Rita) Billhartz and Louis (Ruth) Billhartz, all of Belleville, Maurice (Sherry) Billhartz of New Baden and Leroy (Phyllis) Billhartz of Albers; four daughters, Evelyn (Elmer) Striker of Belleville, Dorothy (Urban) Behrman of Albers, Mary (Louis) Usselmann of Belleville and Carol (David) DeMarais of Chicago; 35 grandchildren; and 34 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 1, 1982; a daughter, Delores Billhartz; three brothers, Theodore Kniepmann Edward Kniepmann and Arthur Kniepmann; and four sisters, Eugenia Hollenkamp, Cecelia Haake, Helen. Haake and Pauline Robke. Clara was a member of St.

Bernard Parish and Altar Sodality, Albers; the Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718, Breese; Germantown Senior Citizens; and Catholic Fraternal Life, Albers Council. She was a homemaker. Visitation was held at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. The Rev. Louis Koehr presided at the 11 a.m.

service Wednesday at Bernard Church. Interment was in St. Bernard Cemetery, Albers. Memorials may be made as Masses or to St. Bernard Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Leona H. Bruns (nee Tebbe), 82, of Germantown died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. She was born Feb. 22, 1918, at Germantown to August and Emma (Beckmann) On Nov. 11.

1947 she married Alvin Bruns at St. Boniface Church, Germantown, and he survives in Germantown. Other survivors include a son, Paul (Betty) Bruns of Germantown; a daughter, Mary Ann (Stan) Varel of Bartelso; seven grandchildren, Bernie, Erin and Mike Bruns, Michelle Bohnenstiehl, Angie Waugh, Christy Honeycutt and Alan Varel; three great-grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Bohnenstiehl and Gabrielle Honeycutt; and a brother, Gene (Dorothy) Tebbe of Breese. She was preceded in death by her parents. Leona was a member of St.

Louis, Mo. She was born Aug. 4, 1901, in Breese to Otto and Alice Schroeder, and they preceded her in death. She married Harry Zinschlag, and he died in 1954. She then married Jake Kohrs on May 25, 1958, and he preceded her in death Oct.

Anthony Church, Beckemeyer, and she survives in Breese. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Steve) Curtis of Martinsville, two sons, Rick Guttersohn of Leadville, and Alan (Denise) Guttersohn of Breese; seven grandchildren, Courtney and Jonathon Curtis and Heather, Holly, Brandon, Justin and Cody Guttersohn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a' brother, Earl Guttersohn. Butch was retired, having been a truck driver for Clinton County Oil and a laborer with Ruttmann Construction. She was born Oct. 20, 1941, at Radom, the daughter of Clara (Deering) and Joseph Kult. On May 30, 1962. she married Stanley Niedzwiecki Jr. at East St.

Louis, and he survives in New Baden. Clarence L. "Louie" Ripperda, 78, of Beckemeyer died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. He was born June 28, 1921, in Beckemeyer to Henry and Cecilia (Bach) Ripperda. They preceded him in death.

On Oct. 26, 1949, he married Rita Musenbrock at St. Rose Church, and she survives in Beckemeyer. Also surviving are two sons, Kent (Tina) Ripperda of Highland and Kurt (Linda) Ripperda of Breese; a daughter, Cara (Frederick) Tomasek of Lansing; five grandchildren, Kendall, Aaron, Carly, Nicole and Alyssa Ripperda; four brothers, Lawrence Ripperda and Alfred (Mary) Ripperda of Breese, Arthur (Thelma) Ripperda of Sorento and Paul (Mary Ann) Ripperda of Swansea; and one sister, Bernice (Vincent) Kuhl of Breese. He was preceded in death by a brother, Valerius "Larry" Ripperda; and sisters-in-law, Hilda Ripperda and Delores Ripperda.

Louis retired as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Carlyle. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

According to the charges, Anthony Finley, 18, of Alhambra; Ryan Starks, 19, Darren Starks, 18, Nicholas Dimig, 21, Nicholas Baer, 19, Andrew Walker, 20, and Jon Rinderer, 18, all of Highland, allegedly, by use of force, acted together to strike and kick Elias Herely in or about the body on Feb.

21. Mob action is a Class 4 felony. Finley, R. Starks, D. Starks, and Dimig were also charged with criminal damage to property, a Class 4 felony, for allegedly damaging Herely's 1996 Pontiac Grand Am on the same date.

Michael Hartline, 26, of Colorado Springs, Colo. was placed on four years of probation, fined $1,500 plus court costs and ordered to pay restitution to the S.A.F.E. program in theamount of $2,000 after pleading guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony. A Class 1 felony charge of criminal sexual assault was dismissed. Hartline committed an act of sexual misconduct with another individual on Oct.

17. As part of his sentence, Hartline was ordered to undergo alcohol, drug and mental health evaluations and complete any recommended treatment. He was also ordered to enroll and cooperate with the sex offender counselor appointed by the probation office and to have no contact with his victim. Randy Brooks, 49, of Beckemeyer was sentenced to 120 days in the Clinton County Jail, placed on two years of probation and fined $500 plus costs on March 30 after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. Brooks was charged on Nov.

30. after having previously been convicted of D.U.I. on two separate occasions. He also plead guilty to a second count for driving while his driver's licenses had been revoked. Amanda Carter, 17, of Pocahontas was charged with retail theft on March 31.

Carter allegedly took gas from CC Food Mart in Breese on March 13. Shelly Kerwin of Carlyle was charge with deceptive practice on March 31 for allegedly writing bad checks at Casey's General Store in Centralia for $47.87 on Jan. 15 and $7.70 on Jan. 16. The checks were drawn on Mercantile Bank of Illinois in Carlyle.

Katie McIntyre, 19, of Bartelso was charged with deceptive practice on March 31 for allegedly writing a bad check for $39.91 at Carlyle Super Valu on Dec. 21. The check was drawn on National Bank at Carlyle. Diane Daiber of Highland was charged with deceptive, practice on March 31 for allegedly writing a bad check to Mater Dei High School for $50 on Feb. 15.
