Phone 3457 Dunkirk, N. Y. The city of Dunkirk lost one of its veteran policemen Monday evening when Patrolman Edward S. Luczkowiak, a member of the force for the last 28 years, died at- his residence. 13 Middle road.

The policeman, who was to report for duty at 8 p. m. Monday, look a nap during the afternoon. When the family ready for 4he evening meal at 6 o'clock, an effort was made to the patrolman and it was then discovered he had died in his sleep. City Officer Edgar.

Bieb- who announced a heart attack was the cause': oi death. Mr. Luczkowiak was dead only a short time when his body: was discovered. Born in "Poland Sept. 8, 1875, he came the United States with his parents and had resided in Dunkirk for the last 60 years.

On March 14, 1912 Luczkowiak was named a special police officer. On June 1, 1912 he was appointed as regular special officer and on Jan. 1, 1913 as a regular patrolman on the force. He was a member of Hyacinth's church, of the Police Benevolent association of New York state, of the Dunkirk Exempt firemen's association. He was a former member of Lake City Hose 3 and was a former second assistant fire chief.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Luczkcwiak: three daughters. Mrs. Paul Bielat. Mrs.

Felix Czekanski and Mrs. William Hackman six sons. Aloysius, Leonard. Stanley. Clement.

Joachim and James Luczkowiak; a sister. Mrs. Josephine Bialaszewski; a brother. Symon Luczkowski of Buffalo. Nine grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Nellie Yockum Hanged Women's Rest Room.After 4'O'clock Monday Afternoon The body of Mrs. Louis Yocktrm, 44, of 1135 Central avenue, was found hanging from a'rafter in the women's restroom at the fair grounds at 7:30 this "morning by her husband who had. reported her missing from home since 4 o'clock Monday afternoon. State police as well as local police were conducting a search for the woman and investigators even went into the fair grounds but neglected to look in the rest room which was believed to be locked.

A thorough search of every other part of the-grounds wa conducted, however, but no trace of the woman was found. This morning, Mr. Yockum notified police that, he had found his wife's" body hanging in the brick rest room. The coroner was notified, immediately and took charge of the body'. Mrs.
