AN 1 A A A Ann Landers Fan Promotes Philosophy Found To Be Most Helpful Dear Ann Landers: Occasionally you messages of value from other sources. print Here is a big or livable philosophy which I have found most helpful. If you feel it has merit, please print it. Take time to think thoughts are the source of power. Take time to play play is the secret of perpetual youth.

Take time to read reading is the fountain of wisdom. Take time to pray prayer can be a rock of strength in time of trouble. Take time to love loving is what makes living worthwhile. Take time to be friendly friendships give life a delicious flavor. Take time to laugh laughter is the music of the soul.

Take time to give any day of the year is too short for selfishness. Take time to do your work well pride in your work, no matter what it is, nourishes the ego and the spirit. Take time to show appreciation thanks is the frosting on the cake of life. A Faithful Ann Fan Dear Fan: Beautiful. On behalf of my readers, I thank you.

Dear Ann Landers: I lived with my married daughter for 20 years. Her children were like my own. I raised them. I didn't plan it it just happened. My daughter was glad to have the "help," and the way it turned out I was the one who did all the things for the kids that a mother usually does.

I did the feeding, bathing, dressing, settling of differences, and putting to bed. I am out of my daughter's home now but the kids still love me and treat me as if I were their mother. My daughter resents this. She Napa told me a few months ago that I intentionally stole their affection. She says I now must stay out of their lives because it's time they learned that she is their mother.

I'm so hurt, Ann, I don't know what to do. Of course I shall respect my daughter's wishes but it is killing me. When the kids want to come to my place I have to make up excuses. (I never get invited to their home.) Please tell me if there is anything I can do. You can use my name if you wish, I have nothing to lose.

I've already lost everything. Sad Gran Dear Your daughter can set up rules and regulations but she can't change your grandchildren's feelings about you. Love is not transferrable. If you raised the kids they are as good as yours. I hope your daughter sees this column and reconsiders, for the children's sake as well as for yours.

Dear Ann Landers: I'm an unmarried woman of 38 and have always enjoyed good health. I recently read that unmarried women are more susceptible to breast cancer than women who are married. Is this true? I have always believed just the opposite. Please inform me. Portland.

Dear Port: Recently 30,000 nuns over 39 years of age were studied. The results showed that the nuns had a higher incidence of breast cancer than married women of the same age group. These findings give added credence to the warning of the American Cancer Society that all women should have a physical checkup annually. Learning how to perform breast self-examination every month can be a lifesaver. Your local chapter of the American Cancer Society offers free instruction booklets.

I suggest that you write for one at once. (C) 1971 Publishers-Hall Syndicate Napa Register Television Listings 6:30 3-10. It also has been christened, "The coup en passant." The basic idea of the play is to force an opponent to either waste a trump trick while you discard a loser or to let you make an otherwise losing trump.

South wins the club lead in dummy and plays a trump to his ace. East shows out and South is faced with the loss of three trump tricks and a diamond. He sees some possibility of an end play against East, but as you can see the end play won't come off. West holds the diamond king. Nevertheless, if South just tries to make his contract he will bring it home.

If Born On This Date, You Have Highly Analytical Mind WEDNESDAY.

JANUARY 20- -Born today, you possess a highly analytical mind which you combine with a basic sympathy for the human condition to bring you quickly to an understanding of other people. More than a theoretician, however. you know how to apply your objective understanding of a problem to finding its answer. Not sidetracked by superfluous issues, you are always capable of driving directly to the heart of difficulties and from there to at least the seeds of their solution. You need the company of other people in order to live happily.

No matter how great a success you have in business or profession, unless you have good relationships with a large number of close friends and loved ones, you will not be able to take any really deep satisfaction from your accomplishments. You will in all probability be very active socially, perhaps even gaining a real reputation as a host or hostess of some note. One who both needs and desires beauty, you have a natural bent toward art. music, the theater, literature, and so on. It is hardly likely that you will make a life's work in any of these fields, but there is little question that at least one of them will fill a large part of your leisure hours.
