J. Burton, Maggie §l)e4d, Ellen Burton, Mondy Williams, Sarah Mann, H. B. Ewart, W. H. Harper, R. H. Crow, David Staffle and James Nir. There were few records kept until 1903, and at that time Rev. W. R. Sanderson was the pastor, In 1904, Rev. John McCIaine served as pastor. From 1905 to 1907, there was a lapse of services, undoubtedly due to the lack of sufficient funds. The Mississippi County Association came to the rescue of the church and paid the pastor's salary. Rev. W. G, Mathis who was the Associationai Missionary at this time led in some of the services. In 1909 the church called Rev. J. T. Fowlkes as pastor and met for services one Sunday afternoon each month. The church grew slowly and steadily during the next few years. In 1914 the church called Rev. L. D. Summers as pastor, and during this year Sunday School was organized. The church VM still being helped by the association. The land on which the church is located was donated by the Jesse Taylor family to be used as long as it was used for church purposes. During MM depression th« church w«» pastoMd by Rev. W. E. Hughes (1928), and Rev. W. H, Horne (1984). The church rented and worked five acres of cotton to help meet the expenses, In 1939 the church building was rebuilt under the leadership of R«v. H. A. Johnson. In 1942 Rev. L. G. Scott was called at th« firtt full tim« pastor, and a pastor's home was erected at thii time, and a program of Sunday School, Training Union »nd Wonwn'i Missionary Union was promoted. In 1946 Rev, J. E, Cox was called as pastor, and additional rooms were added to the pastor's home, improvements wei'« made on Sunday School rooms. Rev. H. B. Hay became pastor in 1954; and R«v, W. C. Ward in 1961. In 1963 Rev, S. W. Davis Jr., the present pastor, came to the church. In 1963 a recreation and kitchen are* wa» added; in 1964 the sanctuary wa» remodeled a.nd drapen and carpeting added. At the present there are 368 members, and a budget of over $14,600, We are forever grateful to our forefathers for rnaking- it possible to have a place of Worship in our community. Our desire is to continue to meet the nedes of the people in oiar area while we have the opportunity.
