Junior Best-of-Three Series Will Start Saturday Second Game Will Be Played Here Sunday Afternoon The Lock Haven Junior League all star team will 'meet the Punxsutawney all stars in their opening game in the VFW Teener playoffs, Saturday evening at 6 o'clock in Punxsutawney. The game will be the first in a best- of-threc series which will continue Sunday with Punxsutawney playing the local stars on the E. Park St. field at 3.30 p. The site of the third game, ii one is necessary, will be deter mined later.

The third game of the series will be played Monday at 6 p. Harry Haskavitch, area director of the Teener baseball program told local league officials tha Philipsburg was the probable site of the third game. The winner of the three game series wil meet the winner of the DuBois Titusville series in a best-of-three playoff for the area champion ship. The area winner will play in the state championships at Uniontown at the end of the month. Lock Haven will a bus tc Punxsutawney Saturday leaving from the E.

Park St. field a 12.30 p. m. All players are report to the field at noon ant are to have birth certificates insure eligibility. Sunday, th Punxsutawney team will come Lock Haven for the first playoff game the Junior League has ever played in a national program in this city.

Manager Frank Lapriola and assistant Hack Henry have been practicing all stars for the past ten days, rounding them Into shape for the opener. The team beat Jersey Shore 8-1 in an exhibition game here Sunday has looked good in pre- tournament practice drills. Jerry Brungart, the league's landing pitcher in regular season play, heads a strong crew of pitchers which includes Bill Workman, Joe Montovino, and Sill Buck. Several other members of the team have pitched would be available for duty If needed. The Teener playoffs have only one 'restriction on the pitchers and that is that a boy cannot pitch over nine innings In one day.

There is no limit to the number of consecutive games he can pitch or the number of innings in one week. League officials announced that regular season play would be suspendended until the all stars had either been eliminated or had won the championship. Tom Ryan, league commissioner, and Walter Walker, manager of the Piper team, met with Teener area officials Tuesday at DuBois to make the tournament arrangements.

Third place Orviston dropped three games off the pace.

The Brickworkers got three quick runs off Welsh in the first inning, but Dick Condo came into to hurl the rest of the game, receiving credit for the win. The Blue Sox came back for six runs in the first three innings to drive Frank Rickert from the box, but an Orviston rally in the fourth 'tied the game at 6-6.
