Obituaries Monday, October 9, 2000 B2 St. Joseph (Mo.) News-Press William B. DeVaul 1929-2000 CHILLICOTHE, Mo William B. "Bill" DeVaul, 70, Chillicothe, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at his home.

Mr. DeVaul was the owner and operator of DeVaul's Bulldozing. He also farmed until entering the Army in 1951. Born Nov. 23, 1929, north of Wheeling, he attended White Cloud and Wheeling schools.

Me DeVaul was a member of Land Improvement Contractors of America, where he held local and state level offices, and was a member of the national LICA committee. He was a member of St. Columbans Church, Chillicothe, American Legion, Elks Lodge and Chillicothe Booster Club. In 1954, he married Charlene Leila Miles 19 11-2000 MAYSVILLE, Mo. Leila (Mason) Miles, 89, Maysville, died Saturday, Oct.

7, 2000. A longtime resident of Maysville, Mrs. Miles was an aide at Sunset Nursing Home, Maysville. Born May 25, 1911, east of Berlin, she attended the Grandview school. Mrs.

Miles was a member of United Christian Church, Higginsville, Mo. On Sept. 21, 1928, she married Lee Berry. They later divorced. On June 19, 1961, she married Blair Miles.

He died in 1962. Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Stella Mason; four brothers, Garland Mason, Lynn Mason, James Mason and infant Garvin Mason; and two sisters, Lucille Parker and infant Doris Mason. Surviving: a son, LaVern Berry, Maysville; a daughter, Elain Par- Joan E. Bobier 193 2-2000 CAMERON, Mo.

Joan Elizabeth (Ayers) Dinnel Bobier, 68, Cameron, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at a St. Joseph hospital Mrs. Bobier was born March 12, 1932, in Gallatin, Mo. On Sept.

5, 1948, she married James W. Dinnel. They later divorced. On Oct. 10, 1964, she married Richard A.

Bobier. He died in 1974. Mrs. Bobier was also preceded in death by a son, Robbin Dinnel. Surviving: two sons, Rodney Dinnel, Los Angeles, and Richard, San Diego; two daughters, Cynthia Jones, Holt, and Johna Reeds, Topeka, a brother, William Ayers, Hamilton, a sister, Gloria Spears, Gallatin; eight grandchi-dren and four great-grandchildrea Service: 10 a.m.

The Plainsmen have moved on and the Prairie Wolves have taken their place Lincoln Mayor Don Wesely introduced the new Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves mascot at Saturday's homecoming game. Wesleyan's aclministrative council made the final decision after an on-line poll determined the Plainsmen did not represent women and minorities on campus. Community input indicated the mascot should have ties to Nebraska Wesleyan's tradition; be sensitive to gender and ethnicity, represent the region; and not be used by any other college. The new Prairie Wolf made a successful debut as Nebraska Wesleyan beat Doane but crowd reaction to the mascot a person in a cartoonish, inflatable wolf costume was mixed. City.

Born March 9, 1922, southeast of Verdon, Mrs. Frederick graduated from Verdon High School On July 24, 1940, she married Giles Frederick. They made their home on a farm northwest of Falls City until moving into Falls City in 1985. He survives of the home Mrs. Frederick was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Schuetz; her Benjamin F.

and Effie M. Randall; and two brothers, Glen R. Randall and Ben F. Randall. Additional survivors: three sons, Robert and Mike both of Falls City, and Mark Flower Mound, Texas; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

8, 2000, at a Kansas City hospital. Mr. Fuller was a loading foreman with Dugdale. Packing Co. for 27 years and also worked for Armour Co.

He also worked for the St. Joseph school district until his retirement in 1992. Born Jan. 31, 1928, in Tarkio, he moved to St. Joseph in ton, Gallatin, two brothers, Wilbur Mason, Huntsville, and Vyrl Mason, St.

Joseph; a sister, Mildred Horsman, St. Joseph; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Bram Funeral Home, Maysville. Burial: Fair View Cemetery, south of Albany, Mo.

Nolf 1901-2000 Gladys E. Nolf, 99, St. Joseph, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at a St Joseph health care center. A homemaker, Mrs.

Nolf was born Sept. 1, 1901, near Holton, Kan. On June 1, 1927, she married Dr. Owen Nolf. They lived in Iowa City, Iowa, from 1931 until his death in 1991.

She stayed in Iowa until 1994. Mrs. Nolf was also preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Josie Bumgardner. Surviving: two sons, Bruce, Cove, and Richard, St. Joseph; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Service: The body has been cremated. There will be a time of remembering and sharing with friends and family from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at the St Joseph Museum. Memorials may be made to the St.

Joseph Museum. Kenneth W. Rieger 19 11-2000 FALLS CITY, Neb. Kenneth W. Rieger, 89, Falls City, died Saturday, Oct.

7, 2000, at a hospital in Falls City. Mr. Rieger served on the school board district No. 28, Arago Center, and on the election board, Arago precinct. He also served as tresurer of Bethel-Zion Cemetery.

Born Sept. 10, 1911, in Falls City, he graduated fron Falls City High School. On June 1, 1950, he married Berniece A. Bletscher. She died in 1986.

Mr. Rieger was also preceded in death by his parents, Otto C. and Lydia and a brother, Clarence Surviving: two sons, Paul and Roy, both of Falls City; a daughter, Martha Rieger, Indepedence, a brother, Earl, Falls City; a sister, Catherine Funk, Falls Now Honoring Metabolic Weight Loss Programs HEALTH ENERGY 232-5210 3801 Oakland, Suite 205B Joan Herring, 9 years experience in medical weight loss. 1 Lucas in Wheeling. Joseph, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at a St. Joseph hospital. Mr. Hall was a registered pharmacist for more than 50 years.

He worked for Norris Drug Store and later for Shanin's Pharmacy until retirement in 1993. Born March 6, 1916, in Robinson, he lived in St. Joseph most of his life. Mr. Hall was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Moila Temple Shrine and Charity Lodge A.

27, Mr. Hall 1940, he married Louise J. Lysaght. She died in 1994. Mr.

Monday, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison. BobSchiesl 1914-2000 Bob Schiesl, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, died Sunday, October 8, 2000 at his home. Mr. Schiesl was a manager for the former Lumbermen's Supply Company, where he worked for thirty-three years until retirement in 1979.

He graduated from St. Leo High School, Chicago, Illinois in 1932. Born September 10, 1914 in Joseph, Missouri. He was a resident of St Joseph for most of his life. He had also been a resident of Chicago, Illinois for eight years.

During World War II, he served in the United States Army. On January 10, 1968, he married the former Joy Clagg Burnham Gasser. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Verdi (Stout) Schiesl. He was a member of St.

Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, where he had been an usher for many years; Kiwanis Club, where he had been editor of the news letter; a former member of Elks Lodge 40, BPOE; Y.M.C.A, where he was an avid handball player; a member of the St. Joseph Gymnastics Society; and a former member of the St. Joseph Country Club and the Benton Club. James Burnham of Barrington, Illinois; his step-daughter, Judith Burnham-Pedersen of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; two step-granddaughters, Brooke Joy Burnham Haines of Kansas City, Missouri and Ashley Joy Pedersen of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; two sisters, Mary Louise Minor and Suzanne Meierhoffer, both of St.

Joseph, Missouri; his brother, Larry Schiesl of St. Joseph, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. She survives of the home. Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Carrie; a brother, Larry Fuller; and a sister, Norma Lee. Additional survivors: two sons, Robert St. Joseph, and Randy Overland Park, two daughters, Sheryl M.
