40 Isabel Endslow, Retired Educator Isabel K. Endslow, 90. formerly of Marietta Rl, died Thursday morning at the Alpine Nursing Home, Hershey, where she had lived for three years. Born in Blain, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Jane E.

Bryner Endslow. A graduate of the Millersville Normal School and Dickinson College, she taught several years in one-room scnools in Lancaster County. She spent most of her career as an educator in the Lower Mer-ion School District near Ardmore, where she was dean of women for many years. She was socially active in Ardmore, where she lived until 1973. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She had been listed in Who's Who Among the Women of the Nation. She belonged to the Donegal Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy. Surviving are a brother, D. Ker Endslow of Perkasie, and nieces and nephews. residence alter a brief illness.

Born in Cidra, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of Mon-seuate Rivera Figueroa of New York City and Josefa Figueroa Vasques of Bario Arenas, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Kauff Lancaster for 24 years and prior to that in Puerto Rico. A homemaker, she belonged to the San Juan Baptista Church of South Duke Street.

Surviving, in addition to her father and mother, are three sons, Louis Wilfredo, and Miguel all of Lancaster; five daughters, Maria wife of John B. Medina, Migdalia, wife of Francisco Rivera, Lucy E. and Olga all of Lancaster, and Nilsa Rivera of Puerto Rico; 13 grandchildren; four sisters, Rafeha Rivera and Aida F. Rivera, both of Lancaster, Carmen, wife of Jesus Mender, and Virginia, both of Puerto Rico; and three brothers, Isreal F. Rivera of Lancaster, Alfonzo Rivera and Ernado Rivera, both of Atlantic City, N.J Josephine Mapes, Retired Teacher Josephine E.

Mapes, 89. of 135 White Oak Drive, formerly of Cadillac, a retired elementary school teacher, died Thursday at Lancaster General Hospital. Her death was unexpected, but she had been under a physician's care. She was the wife of the late Paul D. Mapes.

who died in 1930. Born in Cadillac, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Frances M. Geis Reiser. She was a graduate of Alma College, Mich A retired elementary school teacher, she had taught in the Cadillac school district.

She belonged to the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac, where she was also a member of the Women's Circle of the church. Surviving are one daughter, Mary wife of Fred A. Spracher. with whom she resided since moving to this area one year ago; and three grandchildren and one great-grandson. Services and burial will be held in Cadillac.

H.P. Gochenaur, U.S. Army Retiree H. Paul Gochenaur, 90, a retired civilian employee of the Army Corps of Enigneers, died Tuesday at Luther Acres, Lititz, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Miriam Haller Gochenaur.

They observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1983. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry B. and Lottie Breneman Gochenaur. Gochenaur retired in 1962 after a 24-year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Washington C.

He returned to Lancaster in 1966. He served in the Army in Europe in World War I. He was a life member of American Legion Post 34, Lancaster. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, John East Orleans, Mass three grandchildren two great-grandchildren three sisters: Edna M. Stark and M.

Dorothy Gantz, both of Lancaster, and R. Hazel Gochenaur, Forked River, N.J.: and a brother, John Gochenaur. Bryan. Texas. Martha M.

Snavely Dies At Age 88 Martha M. Snavely, 88, of the Mount Hope Church Home, Manheim R3, where she was a guest about eight years, and formerly of Manheim R2, died Thursday morning. She was the wife of the late Jacob N. Snavely, who died in 1977. Born in Rapho Township, she was a daughter of the late Abram and Lizzie Metzler Hernley.

She was a member of the Gantz Mennonite Church. Surviving are four sons, Earl Manheim R2. Clarence Manheim R2, Emerson Ann-ville and Carl Hershey Rl; one daughter, Anna Grace, wife of Arthur Brandt of Hershey Rl; 12 Sranchildren 15 great-grandchil-ren; and one sister, Anna, wife of Samuel W. Faus of Manheim R6. Donald Weitzel Donald R.

Weitzel, 46, an Armstrong World Industries Inc. employee, died Thursday at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. An autopsy will be performed at the hospital. A resident of 2824 O'Henry Circle, he was the husband of Barbara Slaugh Weitzel. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Theodore and Jennie Rudy Weitzel.

An Armstrong employee since 1960, Weitzel was employed in designer-rotogravure production. He had completed Armstrong's machinists apprenticeship training program and technical design courses through the International Correspondence School. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving besides his wife are three children: Donald R. Mark S.

Anderton and Jeffrey T. Anderton, all of Lancaster; two sisters, Blanche wife of John H. Miller, Lancaster, and Jennie wife of Earl Toms. Willow Street; and a brother Theodore F. Lancaster.

Kathryn A. Hess Kathryn A. Hess, 80, a former missionary, died Wednesday afternoon at Landis Homes, Lititz R3, after a brief illness. Formerly of Strasburg, she had lived at the home 10 years. A member of Strasburg Mennonite Church, Miss Hess served 10 years at the Norris Square Mission, Philadelphia.

Born in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Katie E. Kreider Hess. Surviving is a sister, E. Mae.

Harry Gibble Harry S. Gibble, 95, a retired farmer and custodian, died Wednesday at 11 p.m. at Pleasant View Rest Home, Manheim. after a long illness. Formerly of Sporting Hill, he had lived at the home 11 years.

He was the husband of the late Daisy Gibble Gibble, who died in August 1983. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Henry B. and Anna Shelly Gibble. Gibble worked for the Sporting Hill Elementary School. He was the oldest member of East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim R6.

Surviving are five sons: Ray Chambersburg Harry Etters; and Martin Stanley G. and Victor all of Manheim; a daughter, Grace Stauffer, Mount Aetna; 26 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren Former Democratic Pa.
