Hes gone to Santa Rosa, the btarsteil fellow Neaily thirty thousand pounds of wool were shipped from Calistoga during the week ending with Tnesduy, May 27th.

Pine flat located on the (feyser load, eighteen miles from Calistoga, and where there was much business transacted during the quicksilver excitement here a few years ago, contains, by actual count, 2i houses for each inhabitant living in the place, and alho a fine system of water works. ltain commenced falling last night at 12 or 1 oclock, and up to 7 oclock this morning 45-100 of an inch had fallen, making 37-20 inches for the season thus far in Calistoga. The cool, damp weather this season has thus far injured the flavor of strawberries very much, and on this account there is less demand for them than usual, and prices are lower. Twenty flasks of quicksilver from the American Mine, sent down to Calistoga for shipment yesterday, were attached at the depot by Deputy Sheriff Boyce, by order of parties in Lake county. The shipments of quicksilver from Calistoga to San Francisco during the week ending with Tuesday, May 27th, wert very large, and amounted to lbs.

LYNCHING AT BAKERSFIELD Bamksiiild, May 28th About 12 15 oclock this morning some one called at the door of the Court-house and was answered by Jailor Heed, who was requested to open the door. Mr. Reed refused, when the door was forcibly broken and about 75 men entered.

The jailor was oulered to throw up his hands which he did. The keys were demanded but refused Ketuih was then made and the keys found 1 he mob entered the cells containing Thomas and William Yoakum, and lynehud them by hanging them in the cells. Wm. Yoakum was chained to the floor of the cell, and a the chain could not be loosened, he was hung with the chain on his feet. He was shot several times.

After hanging him the mob took Thomas and hung him. The Yoakums were in jail for the killing of Johnston and Tuckei at Long lom more than a year ago. Wm. Yoakum had his trial and was convicted of murder the hist degree, and the Supreme Court ruled last week that he should have a change of venue, and his case was moved to Fresno county The mob were all masked except five. HOWLAND, Agent nevWdtl Ihe in 'juaJf may say what it pleases about Kearney. It may print all the charges that it has been industriously collecting during the time it has been lauding him as a pure and great reformer, and may exhaust its whole powers of blackguardism upon him but the only effect it can have will be to hurt itself and strengthen Kearney. The one sufficient answer will be, Why did you not say so before Kearney will kill himself before long, but the Chronicle wont kill him The State.
