ENGINEERS ARRIVE TO SUPERVISE PLANT CONSTRUCTION Personnel on the Buffalo Niagara Electric power plant job began building up today following the arrival of James Butterfield, chief engineer for the Stone and Webster Engineering company of Boston, general contractors.

Mr. Butlerfield brought with him part of the engineering staff which will supervise the work on the $27,000,000 steam electric plant. Except for transfers and personnel changes, the staff will remain with the job until it is completed and put into action. The two units, of 80,000 kilowatt capacity each, are scheduled fcr completion in December, 1950. For the most part, the newcomers are occupying their off hours with house-hunting, hoping to get located before more incoming specialists add to the rush within the next few months.

Richard Cobbe, attorney from the New York Central railroad's real estate division, also is in the city picking up options on the property which will be used for a spur track to serve the BNE plant. Specialized pumping equipment also began coming in today far the Moretrench company, New Jersey contractors who have the sub-contract for pumping dry the diked-in harbor bottom and getting it ready for excavators. Estimates are it will take another week or two to complete the fill to the point where there is a small pond of water surrounded by a dike 50 feet wide. U. S.

Mrs. Naomi Shofner, 25, just recently married and the daughter of a Lebanon, Pilgrim Holiness minister, told police Petillo attacked her in a hotel here yesterday. Her face was slashed from her left ear to her chin. She said Petillo cut her after luring her to his room. Mrs.

Shofner, the bride of Roy Shofner, 29, said she had worked as i'etillo's secretary for more than two years on the west coast nnd that she "went with him" during thal lime. She said she accompanied Petillo when he came here to attend the Memorial Day 500-mile race. She refused to return with him to California. She told police that she and her husband were at a hotel here yesterday when a bellhop told her that "a friend wants to see you." She went to the room indicated, she said, and was surprised to find Petillo waiting for her. First he said, "Why did you do me like you did," the woman reported.

She charged he then slashed her face with a razor or a knife. Spencer's talk. Richard Sidey, a member of the graduating class, will play a piano solo after which Dr. Joseph R. LaPaglia, president of the board of education, will present diplomas and Supt. Thomas E.

Harney will make the presentation of the awards earned by members of the graduating class. A recessional march played by the high school band will close the program.
