BURGLARIZE THEATER. Two burglars, believed by police to be amateurs, were unsuccessful in their attempt to open the safe at the Liberty theater some time parly Monday. Apparently one of the men hid in the theater at closing time Sunday night and is believed to have admitted a companion through the rear door. Two acetylene tanks stolen from the International Harvester company sometime over the week-end were used in an attempt to open the safe.

(Special.) Asotin county is served by 86 retail storey transacting an annual husiness volume of $1,193,000, according to a business distribution repoit from Belle Reeves, secretary of state. Although ranking fourth among Asotin county industries, $100,000 worth of wool and lambs has been disposed of this year. The wool crop is estimated at 72,000 pounds, which brings from 17 to 22 cents a pound. One case of measles in Asotin county and one case of scarlet fever in Columbia county has been reported.
