Kahn Steps Down The chairman of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board, under review for possible conflicts of interest, has resigned. Kenneth Kahn, 34, submitted a letter of resignation Thursday, Thornburgh administration spokesman Jim Wiggins said Friday. Daily Intelligencer Journal (U.S.P.S. 143320), 8 W. Friday at Heatherbank after an illness of several months. He was the husband of Geraldine McKeever Skinner. Born in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Walter and Thelma Crew Skinner. He was employed as a furnace foreman at Colonial Metals Columbia, for 27 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Christian faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Thelma Green, Petersburg, three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia James, Petersburg, Va. and Mildred, wife of Thomas Mosley, Chesterfield, and a brother, Rev. William Mattox, Petersburg, Va. Mrs.

Archibold Olpp Mrs. Sarah D. Olpp, 85, formerly of the Village of Olde Hickory, Lancaster, died at Lancaster General Hospital Friday morning after an illness of several months. She had been a resident Maple Farms Nursing Center, Akron for the past two months. Before moving to Lancaster, she lived in Sea Girt, N.J.

She was a retired registered nurse, a member of the Baptist Church, Sea Girt, and the Republican Club of New Jersey. She was widow of Dr. Archibold E. Olpp. Born in Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Carson Dempster.

She is survived by a daughter, Helen 0., wife of Robert W. Buck, Lancaster; two, grandaugthers; two and a sister. Rosetta Hoekelman, Canandaigua, N.Y. Lester K. Herr, Retired Salesman She is survived by a daughter, Arlene, wife of Robert Kirchner, Lancaster; a son, Donald L.

Campbell, Conestoga R2; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Lester K. Herr, 76, of 21 E. Walnut was stricken at home late Thursday and died in the emergency room at Lancaster General Hospital at 12:15 a.m. Friday.

Born in Voganville, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Dietrich Herr. He was last employed as. a salesman for Gohrman-Rupp, Ohio, and for Mobile Dredge Chester County. Herr was a member of the Forty et Eight, Lancaster. Surviving are two daughters, Ruthe, wife of Richard S.

Hagy, Lancaster, and Vickie, Ephrata; two daughter; and eight brothers grandchildren; one grandsisters: Mrs. Florence Kruger, New York; Claude Herr, Lancaster; Martin Herr, New Holland; Margaret Wenrich, Akron; Anna Mary, wife of Lester Rettew, Brickerville; Walter Herr, Manheim; Ira Herr, Ephrata; and Irene, wife of Charles Rettew, York. Anthony Spiroff, E-town Graduate Anthony V. Spiroff, 19, of 605-J Willow Highspire, died Thursday morning at his home. Dauphin County chief deputy coroner Hubert R.

Jones said Friday afternoon that his investigation was not complete but it appears that death was by an accidental hanging. He would not release further details. Spiroff was a former employee of McDonald's in Highspire. Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of Charles V. and JoAnn Foster Spiroff.

A 1981 Elizabethtown High School graduate, he was a member of Battery, 108 Field Artillery of the Pennsylvania National Guard, Columbia, and Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Charles V. Highspire, and David Middletown; two nieces and a nephew. B. John Stoltzfus, 65.

Retired Farmer B. John Stoltzfus, 65, of Gap R1, died Friday morning at his home. Death was unexpected, but he had been under the care of a physician. He was the husband of Lydia L. Petersheim Stoltzfus.

Born in Gap, he was a son of the late Samuel B. and Mary Berkey Stoltzfus. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are seven children: Anna wife of Sol J. Stoltzfus, Gap R2; Mary wife of Daniel F.

Stoltzfus, Kinzer R1; Katie wife of Benjamin L. King, Gordonville; David Samuel both of Gap R1; Lydia wife of John F. Riehl, New Providence; John at home. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren, a brother, Aaron Gap R1 and a sister, Sara E. Beiler, Bird in Hand.

Mrs. Henry Smith Mrs. Ada B. Smith, 77, of Safe Harbor Village, Conestoga R2, died unexpectedly at her home Thursday. She had been under the care of a physician.

She was the widow of Henry Smith. Born in Providence Township, she was a daughter of the late Miller and Emma Weitzel Bohnholtzer. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Obituaries Mrs. T.A. McFadden, Lancaster Native Mrs. Dorothy C. McFadden, 84, of 520 E.

Fulton Lancaster, died at 7:44 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. McFadden, who died in 1953.

Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Emma Schmidt Ochs. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Happy Hours, St.

Joseph's Happy Hours and the Rodney Park Happy Hours. She is survived by four daughters, Peggy wife of William non, St. Petersburg, Dorothy wife of Robert Shiflep, Brandon, Mrs. Patricia R. Callanan, Hampton, and Joanne wife of George E.

Weber, Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; a a brother, Ochs, Lancaster; and two sisters. Mrs. Catherine Shirk, and Mrs. Anna Hatz, both of Lancaster. Jean C.

Stoltzfus Tuscon, Ariz. grandchild. Jean Chance Stoltzfus, 61, formerof Bart, died Thursday in Dryden, N. Y. She had been under the care of a physician.

Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Louis M. and Ella Chance. She is survived by four children, Mary Ellen, wife of Kenneth Poorman, Houston, Texas; Cynthia, wife of Mark Sutton, Dryden, N.Y.; Irene, wife of Robert Lehman, and William Stoltzfus, both of Houston, Texas; a brother, Howard L. Chance, Lancaster; and three sisters, Ruth, wife of George Barbeau, Centralia, Mary, wife of Joseph F. Martan, East Petersburg; and Helen C.

Chance, Mrs. S.A. Landis, 86, Of Lancaster Mrs. Hettie H. Herr Landis, 86, of 36 Highland Drive, Lancaster, died at 12:40 p.m.

Friday at Lancaster General Hospital after lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Sanford A. Landis, who died June 7, 1962. Born in Lancaster Township, she was a daughter of the late David and Fannie K. Huber Herr.

She was a member of Mellinger's Mennonite Church and School. She was a former Sunday school teacher for many years and was known for her quilting. She is survived by three sons, David Lancaster, Sanford New Providence R1, and John 1 Canton, three daughters, I. Elizabeth, wife of Earl Breneman, Millersville R1; Dorothy wife of Paul K. Charles, Mountville; and Fannie Lancaster, with whom she resided; 23 grandchildren; 27.

great-grandchildren, and Roy H. Herr, East Petersburg. Mrs. Elwood Long Mrs. Elizabeth Walker Long, 80, formerly of 257 S.

Ann died Thursday at Conestoga View, where she had been a resident for a number of years. She was the widow of Elwood Long, who died in 1972, and Claire A. Walker, who died in 1930. Born in County, she was the daughter Lancaster. late Wallace and Emma Duncan Kling.

Mrs. Long worked for many years at the former Saylor Bakery, Lancaster. In later years, she worked at the original Hotel Brunswick in the housekeeping department, retiring in 1967. She is survived by a son, Claire A. Walker Lancaster; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; a step-son, Milton T.

Long, Philadelphia; two step-daughters, Marilyn Long-Carson, and Julia, wife of Landis Hersh, Lancaster; eight stepgranchildren; and one step-great- LANCASTER Periods of rain and possibly a few thunderstorms in afternoon and evening.
