We AAiuiiiivX yy gj The New Holland Jaycees will take over the operation of the New Holland Recreation Center programs effective May 8. According to Larry Kncp-per, president of the recreation center council, the change was made necessary by a declining adult interest in the center and its programs. The Jaycees are expected to make minor renovations in the center1 to provide more space for activities. They will also use the center for their membership meetings and for meetings called to plan programs for the center.

Some Lancaster parents who decided that their chil-dren might be able to get more out of an alternative I method of education have moved several steps toward creating their own elementary school and hope to open a new Center of Open Learning this Fall. The center concept, which will feature open classrooms and the non-graded approach, is designed to be independent of public or sectarian ties. H. Joseph Flynn, an attorney for Tri-County Legal Services who is handling the groups incorporation, said that it is planned that the center would serve 25 to 30 children from ages three to 11. REDLAND, Ore. (AP) Tim Martin, 15, says his 400-pound pet pig thinks hes a dog, pals around with the family dog and gets upset when hes in a pen with other pigs. The black and white boar, named Owasso, had a stall at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A.

Martin in Redland just east of Portland, but the stall door is always open and Owasso roams the grounds freely.
