NEWS 1 i 'HOT' Reuther, Ford in Session DETROIT (UPI) United Auto Workers President Walter P. Reuther today began negotiations with Ford on the 54-cents-an-hour contract pattern reached with Chrysler last week. Reuther made his initial appearance since the Chrysler settlement Friday andtoldre- porters the same package agreed to at Chrysler would give the 130,000 Ford workers more benefits. Since visit, negotiations have been a mere formality at Ford. The main committee met for about one hour Sunday and discussed contract language.

But Khanh returned to his capital to discover that loyalist officers were demanding a heavy price for putting down the rebellion and threatening still another coup within two months. Swartwood was among the five U. S. G.I.’s who helped pull a German refugee to safety over the Berlin Wall Sunday. A military policeman, Swartwood lived in the city with his aunt, Mrs. Deloris Foster of 927 Blaylock for a time in 1960 before entering the army for the second time.

Mrs. Foster took care of Swartwood after his mother died when he was 18- months old. A native of Haskell, he grew up in Tulsa. Swartwood served hitch in the service before coming to Irving. Swartwood helped pull Michael Meyer to safety after the young German was wounded in an attempt to escape from Berlin.

Car Cash Stolen By Hitchhiker A 21-year-old Euless resident, Gerald Maxwell Latimer, was held up at point early Sunday morning in Irving by a hitchhiker who took his car and billfold, containing an estimated $15 in cash. According to die victim, he was going home fron Dallas, and had just crossed the Trinity River Bridge on Hwy. 183, when he spotted a man a ride.
