For the double ring ceremony, the bride was dressed in a white gown fashioned from bridal satin and lace, with a floor length veil complementing her costume. She was given in marriage by her brother, Peter Vink. Her attendants were, Matron of Honour, Mrs. Wes Docksteader, with whom the bride has been staying, and her niece, Maria Vink, as flower girl. Mrs.

Docksteader was gowned in green, while Maria Vink had a floor length dress of white dotted nylon over blue, which was sent from Holland for the occasion by her grandmother. Bouquets for the bridal party added a note of cheerful colour to their dress. The bride carried a bouquet of red roses and lily of the valley, while Mrs. Docksteader carried yellow roses and white carnations and Maria Vink carried sweet scented stock and snap-dragons. Best man for the ceremony was brother of the bride.

Dick Vink. Roy Pennoyer and Ted Morris were ushers. Rev. R. E.

Davis officiated. During the signing of the register Mrs. Ivor Morris sang Promise Me. Following the marriage ceremony was a reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Wes Docksteader. Rev. Davis proposed the toast to the bride, answered by the groom. Idris Morris was master of ceremonies, while Mrs. Ben Hove and Mrs.

Wm. Euerby Jr. poured and Mrs. Gordon Clifton, Mrs. Art Stavenjord and Miss Irene Dergousoff were serviteurs.

Following the reception the couple left on a honeymoon trip to the coast, following which they will make their home here. Out of town guests for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. H. Vink and daughter and Mr.

and Mrs. Huisman of Matsqui. John Verhoenen of Harrison Hot Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Vos of Abbotsford.

From Cascade to Bridesville, and north to Christian Valley, children and parents will be getting in cars early this Saturday morning, enroute to Osoy00s. The picnic, which will be held on the beach there is inter-denominational, and groups from all churches are urged to attend. The day will see games, icecream, -songs, pop, prizes, lots of fun, and more ice-cream.

Those going this Saturday are asked to bring a lunch, and to plan to be at Osoyoos by 11 a.m. In addition anyone with a musical instrument is asked to bring it along. Osoyoos officials have indicated their pleasure at playing host to the gathering, at which it is expected there will be from 300 to 400 people. Use of the community hall has been promised in case of bad weather. If the weather is really BAD.

Mr. Adams says, the picnic is automatically cancelled. This is the second year for the affair, and to date 10 Sunday schools are expected, with accompanying adults. Anyone driving a car that isn't full of children is asked to make sure that no-one in their community is without a ride. The picnic is sponsored by the United Church of Canada, Greenwood branch.

Farewell Party For Mrs. K. Cowans Held A farewell party for Mrs. Ken Cowans, who leaves here to reside in Curlew, was held Wednesday, May 25. at the home of hostess, Mrs.

Pauline Messenger, with 11 guests present. She is moving to Curlew to join her husband, who is employed there. Coming from Germany, she has lived in Grand Forks a year and a half. She was presented with a cream and sugar set and a cake plate by Mrs. Messenger, on behalf of her many friends, during the course of a pleasant afternoon.
