The tracks, set entirely on road surfaces, are available free of charge to all skiers. Nordic ski school operations and rentals will be headquartered at Badger Pass. Some of the services offered at Badger include: food service, child care, Nordic and Alpine ski schools, sport shop and weekend entertainment. Non-skiers can enjoy scenic snowcat rides and relaxing on the outdoor sundeck.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK Representatives of Badger Pass, in Yosemite National Park has announced several new improvements to its ski program. With its addition of machine set tracks to Glacier Point, now totaling 32 kilometer, Nordic Work will begin soon on 15 miles of hiking trail, which will connect, at the north end, with 7 miles of existing trail in Sinkyone Wilderness State Park. The 22 miles of trail will be in one of the most rugged areas of the California coast, in northern Mendocino County. It will be part of the coastal segment of the California Recreational Trail System. Improvements on the seven-mile trail within the park are expected to be completed by the summer of 1985.

The southern 15 miles of trail are expected to be available to the north end of the trail, the Needle Rock Ranch House will be used for interpretive facilities, a visitor shelter, and a ranger residence. The trail dead-ends to the north at Whale Gulch Creek. Eventually, it is expected to continue north and connect with the King Range National Conservation Area. The northern portion of the park, 3,730 acres, is state-owned. Of that area.

130.7 acres is being acquired from Rex Timber, Inc. in exchange for a surplus 310-acre portion of Reynolds Wayside Campground, along Highway 101. public by the summer of 1986. All of the seven miles of coastal trail in the park, plus two miles of lateral trail, will be usable by horse riders. Portions of the southern 15 miles of trail also will be available for horse riding.

Facilities along the trail will be minimal. They will include six existing environmental campsite areas along the northern seven miles and three trail camps along the southern 15 miles. The southern trailhead, at Usal Creek, will have a primitive campground, vehicle parking, and picnic sites.
