Flushed with the accomplishments of the summer, station manager Rich Ashby says of the coming year, "The big emphasis this year is on a professional on-the-air sound." This is the first summer, he added, that KWCR stayed on the entire time with a full schedule of rock. Chief Engineer Rex Greenwell of KLO has completely rewired and revamped the studio, including paneling and the installation of acoustic tile. Coming soon, finances permitting, will be a production room which will contribute to a more professional sound and will enable NWCR newsmen to do live interviews and newscasts. Rabe, head of the Photography Department, said that approximately 200 students at WSC were unable to register for Photography 101 this quarter. One section of Photo 101 is offered with a programmed capacity of 60 students.

The class was almost filled during pre-registration, leaving few openings for the regular registration period, Mr. Rabe said. Limited laboratory facilities account for the limit on enrollment, he said, adding that each class of 60 students is divided into three lab sections with other photography courses also using the lab. Mr. Rabe said he has allow- ed some over-registration to help ease the demand.

The present class has 70 students registered with several more students sit-ting-in hoping for withdrawals. In order to accomodate this overload, Mr. Rabe is attempting to schedule a Saturday lab for the winter session. This will allow the overflow to remain this quarter and enrollment capacity to increase to approximately 125 students for Winter Quarter. Be a better reader it only takes an hour.
